Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. HAFO represented a fairly small and accessible site, no new imagery or aerial photography was deemed necessary for this project. Instead, existing sources of imagery were evaluated and 2 NAIP products were selected to be used as base maps. These included the 2004 and 2006 NAIP products. The 2004 products had 1-meter resolution and were acquired at 1:12,000-scale, which is adequate for vegetation mapping purposes. The 2006 product had 2-meter resolution and was acquired in true-color infrared format. The 2006 imagery was more recent than the 2004 and although it had a coarser resolution, it did highlight all of the recent changes to the landscape such as fires, new roads, tree removals, etc.

Geospatial data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument
공공데이터포털
The files linked to this reference are the geospatial data created as part of the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Current format is ArcGIS file geodatabase but older formats may exist as shapefiles. To produce the digital map 38 map units (21 vegetated and 17 land use) were developed and directly cross-walked or matched to their corresponding plant associations and land use classes. All of the interpreted and remotely sensed data were converted to Geographic Information System (GIS) databases using ArcGIS© software. Draft maps were printed, field tested, reviewed, and revised.
Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of John Day Fossil Beds National Monument
공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Since JODA represented a small site, existing sources of imagery were evaluated and the National Aerial Imagery Program (NAIP) products were found to be adequate. Based on the currentness of the 2009 product, this true-color, 1-meter pixel was accepted as the base imagery. The 2005 true-color, 1-meter pixel product was also used as ancillary data.

Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Fossil Butte National Monument
공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Natural color imagery was acquired for FOBU on July 21, 2004 and processed into 1:12,000-scale hardcopy prints. The 9-x 9-inch photographs were sent to the USGS, scanned at 1000 dots per inch, and mosaicked into a seamless one-meter digital image orthorectified using a 10 m digital elevation model. NAIP imagery was also obtained as an ancillary dataset for the project area. This imagery was one-meter color-infrared data flown during 2006.

Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Grand Portage National Monument
공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. A set of CIR aerial photographs was collected on October 4, 2006. This photo mission was funded by the NPS VIP, and supervised by GLKN staff. This set of photography covered the entire GRPO vegetation mapping project extent at 1:12,000-scale and was the primary imagery used in photointerpretative mapping. In support of mapping from the CIR photos, we used a set of TC aerial photographs (1:8,000-scale) that was collected May 2, 2003, providing deciduous leaf-off viewing of the entire extent. This photo mission was funded by GRPO and supervised by GLKN staff. Having the TC photos gave interpreters a definite advantage in determining evergreen tree and shrub components within forest communities otherwise obscured by deciduous tree canopy on the fall-season CIR photos, thus giving credence to Avery’s statement regarding lack of a single all-purpose film emulsion. To assure stereo viewing and full aerial coverage, aerial photo missions were planned with a 60% forward-lap and 30% side-lap. Contact prints of both CIR and TC photo sets were produced for fieldwork use by mappers and vegetation crews. Diapositives of the CIR photo set were produced for photointerpretative mapping.
