Dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity (TA), nutrients, dissolved oxygen, water temperature, salinity and other measurements collected from discrete samples and profile observations during the R/V Dana Davis Strait Observing System cruise 2372 (EXPOCODE 26D420200830) in Davis Strait, Baffin Bay, Labrador Sea, North Pacific Ocean from 2020-08-30 to 2020-09-14 (NCEI Accession 0291293)
Oceanographic sampling of physical, chemical, and biological parameters was conducted along selected fixed sections in Davis Strait, Baffin Bay, Labrador Sea, North Pacific Ocean at full water depths during the R/V Dana Davis Strait Observing System (DSOS) cruise (EXPOCODE 26D420200830) from 2020-08-30 to 2020-09-14. The cruise is part of DSOS's long-term, high-frequency repeat program. CTD casts were performed at all stations, and discrete water samples were collected in Niskin bottles using the CTD/Rosette system. It was designed to investigate Arctic-North Atlantic interactions, including the variability and trend of freshwater, heat, carbon, oxygen, and nutrient fluxes, as well as ecosystem responses to climate change. This effort was conducted in support of the NSF (OPP1902595) and Fisheries and Oceans, Canada (OFSI).

The CARINA (CARbon dioxide IN the Atlantic Ocean) data synthesis project is an international collaborative effort of the EU IP CARBOOCEAN, and U.S. partners. It has produced a merged internally consistent dataset of open ocean subsurface measurements for biogeochemical investigations, in particular, studies involving the carbon system. The original focus area was the North Atlantic Ocean, but over time the geographic extent expanded and CARINA now includes data from the entire Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.

This dataset contains discrete profile measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, pH on total scale, water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen concentration, nutrients and other chemical and hydrographic parameters obtained during the R/V Sarmiento de Gamboa RADPROF 2020 cruise (EXPOCODE 29AH20200710) in the North East Atlantic Ocean from 2020-07-08 to 2020-07-22 The RADPROF project is an annual routine monitoring activity associated with the Finisterre deep section, RADPROF, which contributes to the IEO oceanography observation system, IEOOS since 2003. RADPROF contributes to time series of hydrography, circulation, inorganic biogeochemistry and biology in the slope region of the Galicia-Cantabrian region, passing through the protected area of the Bank of Galicia since 2014. The time series began in 2003 with the VACLAN National Plan project, continued by COVACLAN (2005) and later integrated as a structural program of the IEO under the pseudonym RADPROF. The basic activity is reinforced and expanded thanks to competitive projects of the National Plan such as MODUPLAN (2014), or Interreg EU iFADO (2020), complementary sampling activities using gliders (FinisGlider). Currently RADPROF is basic in Chapter 6 of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive, as it also would be for the Ocean Acidification and Prevailing Conditions chapter. From 2024 to 2026 it will contribute to the EuroGOSHIP project in support of the improvement of European hydrography. RADPROF is recognized as a GO-SHIP Associated line due to the high density and quality of its thermohaline, circulation and inorganic biogeochemistry data, especially CO2 variables.

This dataset consists of data collected during the CCGS John P. Tully cruise 2019.23 (EXPOCODE 18DD20190829) in the Salish Sea and off the west coast of Vancouver Island of the North American Pacific coast from 2019-08-29 to 2019-09-06 as part of the La Perouse Water Properties Survey. Discrete dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity (TA), salinity, and nutrient samples were taken from rosette casts with 10L Niskin bottles and analysed at the Institute of Ocean Sciences. Discrete samples of dissolved oxygen were also collected and analysed onboard the vessel. CTD profiles were recorded with each rosette cast. DIC and TA samples were placed in cold storage for 1-4 weeks before analysis. A total of 61 DIC and TA pairs were sampled with a 22 percent replication rate. Replicates are not averaged in this dataset and appear individually, indicated by decimal sample ID's (e.g. 26.1, 26.2). The pooled standard deviations (of difference between replicate pairs) were calculated to be 6 umol/kg and 5 umol/kg respectively. Replicates with a QC flag = 3 were included in the pooled standard deviation calculation but replicate pairs with at least one QC flag = 4 (n = 1) were excluded.
