Wave spectra, meteorological, and other data were collected from NOAA Ship FERREL. Data were collected by the National Ocean Service (NOS) from 07 September 1982 to 06 November 1982. Data has been processed by NODC to the standard NODC F191-Meteorology and Wave Spectra format. Data in this accession do not completely conform to the F191 format. The F191 format is used to report meteorological data and ocean wave spectra data from NDBO. The format contains seven data record types to: 1) identify the buoy for position, duration, rate of sampling and heading, 2) identify the meteorological parameters, (temperature, pressure, weather, solar radiation, and surface waves), and 3) report time times series frequency, density and resolution of waves. Each record is 120 character in length, sorted by station and record type.

This dataset includes current speed and velocity data collected using TICUS II current meters by Office of Marine Surveys and Maps, National Ocean Service, from NOAA Ship FERREL on the South Coastal Plains Expedition in 1973.

This dataset includes 1971 Boston Harbor Current Survey data collected from surface buoys using Ferrel on cruises OPR-501-FE-71 and OPR-501-FE-72 by the National Ocean Survey. Parameters include current speed and direction, including U and V vectors.

The data was collected over a period spanning from April 25, 1993 to July 13, 1993. Data was submitted in a diskette by National Ocean Service, Rockville, MD. Data has been processed and is available in F022-CTD-Hi Resolution file format of NODC.
