This archive contains undocumented images acquired by the visible wavelength charged couple device (VISCCD) channel of the Miniature Integrated Camera Spectrometer (MICAS) housed on the Deep Space 1 (DS1) spacecraft. Specifically, select EDR images of the September 2001 approach and encounter of comet 19P/Borrelly are provided. The data are considered to be of highly questionable quality.

This data set contains images of the Deep Space 1 target, comet 19P/Borrelly, and derived photometry from five consecutive nights of observing over 28 July - 1 August 2000. The observations were made using the 1.5m telescope of the Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory using the CFCCD camera mounted at the f/7.5 focus. The detector used was a Tek2K, yielding a plate scale of 0.4334 arcseconds/pixel. The photometric and lightcurve results were presented in Mueller and Samarasinha (2002).

This dataset contains raw and reduced near-infrared images of comet 9P/Tempel 1, the target of the Deep Impact mission. Images were obtained from UT July 2-9, 2005 by M. Knight, R. Swaters, and N. Samarasinha using the Simultaneous Quad Infrared Imaging Device at the KPNO 2.1-m telescope. Results are published in the paper 'Ground-based visible and near-IR observations of Comet 9P/Tempel 1 during the Deep Impact encounter' by Knight et al. 2007 [KNIGHTETAL2007].
