Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Fort Pulaski National Monument
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Airborne GPS data was provided by Aero-Metric, Inc., as was the ground check point data. The project was referenced to the North American Datum of 1983/2007 (NAD83/07), UTM Zone 17 horizontally and to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 vertically. The aerial photographs were taken on 31 May 2009 at a scale of 1:12,000. Features were interpreted using 1:12,000 scale digital color-infrared aerial photography (flown 31 May 2009) through heads-up-digitizing in ArcGIS (Version 10.0, © 2010 Environmental Systems Research Institute, Redlands, California). Polygons were mapped to a 0.5-ha minimum mapping unit (MMU).

공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. The vegetation map was developed through aerial photo interpretation of available black and white digital ortho-photographs from 1984 and 1999. The photos were compiled into a GIS with a standard set of ancillary layers provided by the park service (boundaries, roads, facilities, etc.). Using the vegetation classification as the foundation for the map legend, map units were defined with respect to interpretable patterns in the photography, and with an eye to those patterns that would be most important in natural and cultural resources management within the park.

공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. The vegetation map was created from photographic interpretation of 1996, 1:12,000 scale color infrared aerial photographs (0.5 ha minimum mapping unit). All vegetation and land-use information was then transferred to a GIS database using the latest grayscale USGS digital orthophoto quarter-quads (DOQQs) as the base map and a combination of on-screen digitizing and scanning techniques.

공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. The mapping area is 192 hectares (474 ac), encompassing the entire boundary of FOFR and an additional buffered area of adjacent private lands. NatureServe ecologists identified plant associations for FOFR and a remote sensing specialist from the SECN completed the vegetation mapping using 1:12,000-scale, color-infrared aerial photography and digital orthophotography. Features were interpreted using 1:12,000 scale digital color-infrared aerial photography (flown 07 May 2011) through heads-up-digitizing in ArcGIS (Version 10, © 2010 Environmental Systems Research Institute, Redlands, California).
