USVI commercial fisheries cost data
공공데이터포털
To assist the Caribbean Fishery Management Council in managing marine living resources in the United States Virgin Islands, the Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) collected economic cost data from commercial fishermen in July 2014. Surveys were administered in-person during the annual registration process. Per-trip and fixed cost estimates are included. This data set includes survey results merged with individual landings from the territorial governments logbook program. Summary results and forms can be found at http://www.sefsc.noaa.gov/socialscience/CrossonUSVI2015.htm
Caribbean PR Logbook Survey (Vessels)
공공데이터포털
This data set contains catch (landed catch) and effort for fishing trips made by vessels fishing in Puerto Rico. The catch and effort data for the entire trip are reported on a single form (i.e., one form per trip). The types of information required on this trip form includes information on the quantity (reported in pounds) caught for each species, the area of catch, the type and quantity of gear, the date of departure and return, the dealer and location (county and state where the trip is unloaded), the duration of the trip (time away from dock), an estimate of the fishing time, and the number of crew are included on this form.
Caribbean ST Croix Logbook Survey (Vessels)
공공데이터포털
This data set contains catch (landed catch) and effort for fishing trips made by vessels fishing in St. Croix.
2013 Gulf of Mexico SPCE angler survey
공공데이터포털
This survey provides economic data related to marine recreational fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. The data collected include preference and opinion information necessary to accurately measure the economic effects of regulation changes on the recreational fishing community. The mail survey design was stratified to cover three sampling frames: 1) the MRIP saltwater angler registry for private boat anglers 2) the LA for-hire angler license frame for these anglers and 3) volunteers intercepted by MRIP for for-hire anglers outside of LA. A stated preference choice experiment allows for the calculation of willingness to pay related to four important species.
Recreational Billfish Survey (RBS)
공공데이터포털
Catch and effort data from recreational billfish and tuna tournaments.
Caribbean Marine Mammal Assessment Vessel Surveys
공공데이터포털
These data sets are a compilation of large vessel surveys for marine mammal stock assessments in Caribbean waters conducted during 2000-2001. These surveys were designed as line-transect surveys with data collection through both visual methods and passive acoustic tools. Visual survey data were collected following standard protocols and are intended for analysis using the line-transect Distance method to provide estimates of abundance for marine mammal stocks within the survey area. Each survey includes a collection of data sets including visual survey data (survey effort and sightings of marine mammals and other species), passive and active acoustics data, sample collection information, and physical oceanographic data.
IVR RSA Database
공공데이터포털
This database contains trip-level reports submitted by vessels participating in Research Set-Aside projects with IVR reporting requirements.
American Samoa Boat-based Creel Survey
공공데이터포털
Boat-based creel survey data have been collected and processed by the American Samoa Department of Marine and Wildlife Resources (DMWR) staff since about 1982 and are continuing. Creel surveys consist of 2 major sub-surveys, one to identify the level of fishing participation for each fishing method used in the Territory, and one to determine the catch rate, species composition, and sizes of fish (and invertebrates) for each fishing method and fishing sector. The most structured and consistent surveys have been conducted on the main island of Tutuila and there are also some less robust data for the Manu'a islands. Boat-based surveys are access-point surveys and include all major and some minor ports and marinas where fishing boats launch or are berthed. Fishing areas are limited to the areas around American Samoa as boats included in these surveys are generally less than about 40 feet.
