Opioid Agonists are generally used to treat moderate to severe pain typically associated with injury, surgery, or various health conditions. Naloxone is used to quickly reverse an opioid overdose. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist, and works by attaching to opioid receptors, to reverse and block the effects of other opioids.
