This dataset contains river stage (in meters and feet), water surface elevation (WSE), and temperature data collected at 3 focal areas of research included in the Sustainable Rivers Program (SRP) in the Allegheny River that were collected and processed in collaboration with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This dataset is a combination of data collected by Hobo* U20L water level data loggers and multiple Hobo* TidBit temperature sensors at each focal area. River stage was calculated using the Hobo* software and utilized the barometric pressure at the stage loggers within each area (as a result of the amount of sitting water above the logger creating pressure and the atmospheric pressure above the water) combined with the atmospheric barometric pressure measured at the nearby USGS West Hickory gage (#03016000) also measured with a U20L. * Any use of trade, firm, or product names is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by the U.S. Government.
River Depth, Water Velocity, and Direction at Three Locations Collected in 2021 and 2022 on the Allegheny River Downstream of the Kinzua Dam, Pennsylvania

This dataset contains river depth, water velocity, and direction data at three focal areas of research included in the Sustainable Rivers Program (SRP) in the Allegheny River on three dates in 2021 and 2022, at two different river conditions (10,500/10,800 cubic feet per second (cfs) and 6,600 cfs as recorded at USGS gage Allegheny River at West Hickory - 03016000). Data was collected with a Sontek M9* Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and processed within the USGS software QREV (Mueller, 2020). Depth averaged data are provided at intervals across the river along with data at various depths. Data was collected in the same general area during the three collection periods, but the cross-section locations do not overlap. Data Form Summary: Data is given in station number named .zip folders. Each .zip folder contains folders of data collected on each date (YYYYMMDD). For station numbers 03015650 and 03015950, data was collected at two spots and that data is separated as well. See "Transect Details" for location designation specifics. Each date_LOCATION DESIGNATION folder consists of Excel files that contain data processed within QREV. Output includes a point location, depth, water current velocity, and water current direction at that location. See each individual metadata file included in the zip file for details. Stream temperature observations during summer 2021 for sites in the Antietam Creek watershed, Maryland

This Data Release contains stream temperature observations for 28 sites in the Antietam Creek Watershed (Maryland) during summer 2021. Data were collected using Onset ProV2 temperature gages within perforated PVC cases attached to stream substrates with rebar. Temperature gages were deployed and retrieved by volunteers with the Antietam-Conococheague Watershed Alliance. Temperature records are provided for 20-minute increments between June 1 and August 31, 2021 (92 days, 6625 observations per site, and a total of 185,500 observations in the dataset). Site location coordinates are provided.

As part of a larger study examining stream conditions and the effect of best management practices in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, thirty small streams across the Pennsylvania and Maryland piedmont physiographic province were instrumented and monitored for gage height (water level), water temperature, and air temperature using Onset HOBO sensors from March to September 2023. In addition, discrete discharge measurements were made at baseflow at each site. This data release contains four .csv files with time-series for gage height, water temperature, and air temperature for all thirty monitoring locations and a table of discrete discharge measurements and associated field measurement metadata.
