This dataset contains data from sub-Module E2: Non-Food Expenditures over Past 7 Days. It is part of the 2015 Feed the Future Malawi Interim Survey in the Zone of Influence. A total of 1,021 households were interviewed, which provided data for the target sample size of 1,007 households and ensured the sample is representative of the seven districts covered in the interim assessment. This dataset includes data from Module I for children’s anthropometry and infant and young child feeding practices. The anthropometry Z-scores were calculated in SAS during the data management process, using the World Health Organization (WHO) SAS “igrowup” package. The objective of the Malawi Feed the Future program is to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger and to improve the nutrition of women and children. To meet these objectives, Feed the Future Malawi has worked to align and promote coordination between agriculture and nutrition programming. This first interim assessment will provide the U.S. Government (USG) interagency partners, USAID Bureau for Food Security (BFS), USAID Missions, host country governments, and development partners with information about short-term progress of the ZOI indicators.

Feed the Future Northern Kenya Interim Survey in the Zone of Influence: This dataset (n=243,789, vars=28) contains variables from Module E1, Food Consumption Over Past 7 Days. Each household with food consumption data has multiple records (for the 133 food items in sub-Module E1). (243,789 records divided by 133 food items =1,833 Module E households with sub-Module E1 data.).

Feed the Future Zambia Interim Survey in the Zone of Infuence: This dataset is a household-level file with records for each sampled household with a completed interview (n=768, variables=88).
