DCWP issues license plates and/or decals to sightseeing buses, tow trucks, pedicabs and horse drawn cabs. This data set features all active vehicles licensed by DCWP.

This dataset features business inspections conducted by DCWP. DCWP enforces key consumer protection, licensing, weights and measures, and workplace laws. In addition to patrol (routine) inspections at brick-and-mortar businesses, DCWP inspects licensed vehicles such as horse-drawn cabs, pedicabs, sightseeing buses, and tow trucks to ensure they are in compliance with their respective asset class requirements. DCWP also conducts 'Business Education' inspections, which are educational, violation-free visits. These visits are designed to help business owners learn about and comply with the laws that DCWP enforces.

It includes applications where a license was issued or renewed, denied, withdrawn, or remains in pending status. If applicable, there is a corresponding license number, details of which can be found in the DCWP Licenses dataset.

NOTE: This dataset reflects data as of 7/21/2023. The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is working on an updated version of this dataset. This dataset features consumer complaints against businesses that were mediated by the DCWP Consumer Services Division during the last and current calendar years. It excludes complaints that may have ongoing legal investigations.
