2018 NOAA NGS Topobathy Lidar: Chesapeake Bay, VA (Fisherman Island National Wildlife Refuge to Pitts Neck)
These data were collected by NOAA using a Riegl VQ-880-G sensor. The data were acquired March 29, 2018 through May 25, 2018. NOAA Chesapeake Bay MD1902 and MD1903 Topobathymetric lidar data were collected by NV5 Geospatial (NV5) using a Leica Chiroptera 4x system. The MD1903 acquisition spanned from 20191109-20191115 in 5 missions. The MD1902 acquisition spanned from 20191109-20191116 in 6 missions. LAS files were compiled in 500 m x 500 m tiles. The MD1902 dataset is comprised of 1,460 - 500 m x 500 m LAS tiles. The 100 m buffered NOAA Chesapeake Bay MD1903 project area covers approximately 260.195 square kilometers in an area encompassing West River to Dares Beach near Annapolis, Maryland. LAS files were compiled in 500 m x 500 m tiles. The MD1903 dataset is comprised of 1,569 - 500 m x 500 m LAS tiles.

These data were collected by Leading Edge Geomatics using a RIEGL VQ880-G / RIEGL VQ880-GII topobathymertic lidar system. The data were acquired from November 22, 2019 to December 20, 2019. The data include topobathy data in LAS 1.4 format classified as created, unclassified (1); ground (2); noise (low or high) (7); bathymetric bottom (40); water surface (41); derived water surface (42); submerged object (43); no bathymetric bottom found (45); and temporal (46) in accordance with project specifications. The project was delivered in two blocks: Block 1: The project consists of approximately 311 square miles of data within the Tampa Bay inlet, to include Old Tampa Bay, Hillsborough Bay and the Interbay Peninsula. This dataset contains 883 1000 m x 10000 m lidar tiles. The Block 1 delivery consists of 419 tiles for the eastern half of the AOI. Block 2: The project consists of approximately 311 square miles of data within the Tampa Bay inlet, to include Old Tampa Bay, Hillsborough Bay, and the Interbay Peninsula. This dataset contains 905 1000 m x 1000 m lidar tiles. The Block 2 delivery consists of 486 tiles for the western half of the AOI.

2018 NOAA National Geodetic Survey Topobathy Lidar: Potomac River, Chesapeake Bay

These data were collected by Quantum Spatial, Inc. (QSI) for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Geodetic Survey (NGS), Remote Sensing Division (RSD), Coastal Mapping Program (CMP) using a Riegl VQ880G system. The delivery 02 lidar data were acquired from 20180215 - 20180417 in five missions. The dataset includes topobathy data in a LAS 1.2 format file with the following classification: unclassified (1), ground (2), noise (7), overlap default (19), overlap ground (20), overlap water column (21), water column (25), bathymetric bottom or submerged topography (26), submerged feature (29), submerged aquatic vegetation (30), and temporal bathy bottom (31) in accordance with project specifications. The contracted project consists of approximately 309.125 square miles (197,840 acres) of the states of Virginia and Maryland covering the confluence of the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay. To ensure complete coverage and adequate point densities around survey area boundaries, the Area of Interest (AOI) was buffered by 100m. The full project area including buffered area is approximately 478.151 square miles (306,017 acres). LAS files were compiled by 500 m x 500 m tiles.
