The data in this accession was collected on seven different cruises. The cruises were conducted in three different sea areas namely Gulf of Mexico, NE Pacific (limit-180), and NW Atlantic (limit-40 W). The bathythermograph (XBT) data collected from end of January to end of August in 1988 was sent from the cruise ships to the National Ocean Service, Rockville, MD via telecommunication. This data was submitted by Woodward E. William and is currently available in the C116 file format of NODC.
