Feed the Future Tanzania Mboga na Matunda Producer Survey 2018 - Module E Production Cost
This dataset contains information on costs associated with horticultural crop production by producer beneficiaries included in the FY 18 producer survey. This dataset is Module E of a data asset that contains data from the beneficiary based fiscal year 2018 annual results survey of smallholder producers assisted by the Feed the Future Tanzania - Mboga na Matunda Project. The project works to improve the livelihoods of horticultural farmers in the regions of Iringa, Morogoro, Songwe, Mbeya, and Zanzibar, and strengthen the market system throughout the ZOI. The survey sample was developed using a two-staged cluster design. In the first stage, 77 villages were selected for inclusion in the survey using the method of probability proportional to size based on beneficiary population data as recorded in FTFT-MnM's client database. In the second stage, 12 respondents were selected from each village. In total, 932 respondents were surveyed. The data is split into modules. Module A captures basic demographic data and landholdings. Module B captures information on the household members. Module C captures information on the dietary diversity of female household members. Modules D, E, F, G capture data on production of horticultural produce and associated costs, as well as information on sales. Module H captures information on access to finance.
