Ocean biology data were collected in Southern Drake Passage and Scotia Sea during two research cruises supported by NSF awards. These two cruises, namely LMG0402 and NBP0606, were conducted during February to March 2004 and July to August 2006, respectively. Dataset includes concentration of pigments in phytoplankton, particulate organic matter concentration, macronutrients, primary productivity and microbial biomass and productivity.
Hydrographic data collected using bottle and high resolution CTD from the NATHANIEL B. PALMER in the Antarctic during ROAVERRS cruises from 1996 to 1998 (NCEI Accession 0000520)

This dataset includes hydrographic data referenced in the following two reports: Van Woert, M. L., D. Pryor, E. Quiroz, R. Slonaker, W. A. Stone, 2000: Hydrography of the Ross Sea Continental Shelf During the ROAVERRS, NBP96-06, Cruise December 1996 - January 1997. NOAA Technical Report, NESDIS 96. U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, NESDIS, Camp Springs, MD, 278 pp. Van Woert, M. L., L. Gordon, J. Grebmeier, R. Holmbeck, T. Henderson, W. F. U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, NESDIS, Camp Springs, MD, 255 pp. The ROAVERRS hydrographic data sets consist of both discrete bottle samples and continuous downcast profile data.
Zooplankton, oceanographic profile, and other data collected from MOCNESS nets from the NATHANIEL B. PALMER in the Antarctic in support of the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) / Southern Ocean and the US JGOFS Antarctic Environments Southern Ocean Process Study (AESOPS) projects from 1996-09-08 to 1997-04-25 (NCEI Accession 0000499)

Net, CTD, bottle, and other data were collected from the NATHANIEL B. PALMER from the Antarctic Ocean (> 60 degrees South) from 08 September 1996 to 25 April 1997. Data were collected in support of the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) / Southern Ocean and the US JGOFS Antarctic Environments Southern Ocean Process Study (AESOPS) projects. Zooplankton were collected using a Multiple Opening Closing Net and Environmental Sampling System (MOCNESS) and displaced volumes were determined. CTD parameters include conductivity, temperature, and salinity profiles. Bottle parameters include concentrations of trace metals.
