Fatality Analysis Reporting System ( FARS )
The program collects data for analysis of traffic safety crashes to identify problems, and evaluate countermeasures leading to reducing injuries and property damage resulting from motor vehicle crashes. The FARS dataset contains descriptions, in standard format, of each fatal crash reported. To qualify for inclusion, a crash must involve a motor vehicle traveling a traffic-way customarily open to the public and resulting in the death of a person (occupant of a vehicle or a non-motorist) within 30 days of the crash. Each crash has more than 100 coded data elements that characterize the crash, the vehicles, and the people involved. The specific data elements may be changed slightly each year to conform to the changing user needs, vehicle characteristics and highway safety emphasis areas. The type of information that FARS, a major application, processes is therefore motor vehicle crash data.

Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) 2021 - Accidents
공공데이터포털
The Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) 2021 Final Release - Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents dataset was compiled from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). This geospatial dataset is the accident file from the FARS 2021 Final Release Data. The Final Release Data is published 12-15 months, after the initial release of FARS, and could contain additional fatal accidents due to the delay in police reporting, toxicology reports, etc., along with changes to attribute information for previously reported fatal accidents. This data file contains information about crash characteristics and environmental conditions at the time of the crash. There is one record per crash.
Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) 2023 - Vehicle Auxiliary File
공공데이터포털
The Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) 2023 Initial Release - Vehicle Information Auxiliary File dataset was compiled from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). This file contain elements derived from the FARS datasets to make it easier to extract certain data classifications and topical areas. This file downloaded from the open data catalog is synonymous with what USDOT/NHTSA releases for FARS as the VEH_AUX file. A data dictionary, or other source of attribute information, is accessible at https://doi.org/10.21949/1529024

STSI provides state-by-state traffic safety profiles, including: crash data, lives saved/savable, legislation, economic costs, grant funding, alcohol related crash data, performance measures, and geographic maps of crash data.
Fatal Crashes
공공데이터포털
This data set shows all fatal crashes and their investigative outcomes from PPD's Accident Investigation Unit (AID) from 1/1/19 to the present. The whole dataset gets refreshed nightly. This means the dataset will show new records the day after the source data has updated. __For those conducting analysis, this dataset by PPD and [OTIS' crash data](https://opendataphilly.org/datasets/vehicular-crashes/) should not be compared, or should be used together cautiously.__ The same crash may show as in different locations between the two datasets since PPD data represent the location of where crashes are initially _reported_ whereas OTIS' crash data involves further investigation to confirm initial reports. If you want to analyze the location of crashes in Philadelphia, use OTIS' dataset. If you want to understand the investigative outcomes of crashes, use the PPD dataset.
