This dataset includes detailed information regarding the use of TIF for all economic development projects with a City Council approved TIF redevelopment agreements (RDAs) since January, 2011. This does not include approved RDAs for affordable housing, approved intergovernmental agreements (IGAs), or TIF-funded public infrastructure. TIF Investment Committee (TIC) data includes all projects reviewed by the TIF Investment Committee, since May, 2019. This includes all requests for TIF funding, including TIF-funded public infrastructure projects from the City departments and Sister Agencies, as well as private-sector housing and economic development projects. TIF is a special funding tool used by the City of Chicago to promote public and private investment across the city. Projects must be located on parcels within an active TIF district to be eligible.

Small Business Improvement Fund data includes all projects that have received a final grant payment since January, 2001. SBIF uses TIF revenues to provide reimbursement grants to small commercial and industrial businesses and property owners to help fund permanent improvements to their buildings and improve the appearance of their neighborhoods.

This dataset contains amounts shown in the TIF District Programming 2019-2023 reports as well as from 2024 through the planned expiration of each TIF district. The report and corresponding dataset show estimated fund and project balances through the end of FY 2018. Amounts shown in columns 2019 and later reflect known obligations and proposed projects as well as estimates of revenue based on the current equalized assessed value data for each TIF district produced by the Cook County Clerk. Versions of this dataset are produced periodically for the then-relevant time periods, which will partially overlap, with newer versions having updated numbers. The immediately previous and next (if available) datasets are shown in the Featured Content cards for this dataset.
