Kauai Bird Surveys (12 species) 1981-2012
공공데이터포털
Bird surveys were conducted in 1981, 1989, 1994, 2000, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2012. From these data we calculated species-specific density and abundance estimates. We conducted separate trends assessments for the Interior (long [1981-2012] and short [2000-2012]) and the Exterior (surveyed 2000-2012) portions of the Alakai Plateau, and using abundance estimates for native species from 2000-2012, we fit a linear and exponential growth model to the population numbers of each species to evaluate time to extinction.

Haleakala National Park Forest Bird Inventory Dataset
공공데이터포털
Haleakala National Park (HALE) is host to 9 species of honeycreeper, five of which are endangered. The Maui Parrotbill and Akohekohe were once found in low elevation habitats on east Maui, but are now restricted to mesic and wet forests above 1,100 m. The Maui akepa prefers mature ohia and ohia-koa above 1,500 m. The last visual detection of the Maui akepa was at 1,872 m in Kipahulu Valley to the east of Kaapahu in 1995. However, auditory detections require visual confirmation because Maui Akepa songs can be confused with songs of Maui Parrotbills. The Maui Nukupuu was in Hanwi Natural Area Reserve at 1,890 m on the northern slope of Haeakala in 1995. Further survey efforts have yielded no additional detections. The Poouli was discovered in 1973 and was confined to a single location in wet ohia forest above 1,500 m in Haleakala. As of 2005, only two individuals are known to exist, however, the Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project reports that the last Poouli has not been sighted within the last year.

Landbird survey bird and habitat data collected in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park during 2015 and 2016
공공데이터포털
Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park (HAVO) was surveyed for landbirds and landbird habitat from February through April 2015 and February through April 2016. This information provides the second datum in the time-series of Pacific Island Network (PACN) monitoring for long-term trends in landbird distribution, density, and abundance. Initial PACN surveys were conducted in 2010 and are repeated every five years. The entire survey area was comprised of eight tracts in forest, woodland, and shrub habitat, totaling 26,364 ha. Each tract was surveyed using point-transect distance sampling to calculate estimates of bird abundance and density. . In addition to the permanent PACN survey transects, randomly generated point-transects were also surveyed, allowing for a split panel sampling design.
