This dashboard is also transmitted to the City Administrator, the Mayor, and other senior staff, so they can be aware of economic trends and context. The Opportunity Zones (OZ) program provides tax incentives for equity investments in businesses and commercial projects in designated Census Tracts. The District of Columbia's Opportunity Zone Marketplace is a platform where project sponsors, fund managers, investors, community members, and professional service providers can connect. The Marketplace includes listings of investment opportunities and OZ Community Corps service providers. This platform is managed by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED). DMPED assists the Mayor in the coordination, planning, supervision, and execution of economic development efforts in DC with the goal of creating and preserving affordable housing, increasing tax revenue, and creating jobs.

Great Streets Lookup

Use this application to identify whether a business is physically located inside a parcel, square, or lot that is within or abuts a retail priority area. The Great Streets Retail Small Business Grant provides funding for small businesses in designated retail priority areas to make capital improvements in their business and create new job opportunities for District residents. Eligible businesses operate from a physical location in a Great Streets corridor (Retail Priority Area) and are for-profit retail or service-oriented businesses, or nonprofit arts and humanities organizations.
