The Community Legacy program provides local governments and community development organizations with funding for essential projects aimed at strengthening communities through activities such as business retention and attraction, encouraging homeownership and commercial revitalization. As a result of the Sustainable Communities Act of 2010. Community Legacy Areas are now known as Sustainable Communities. Funding, in the form of grants and loans, is available for projects located in these Sustainable Communities, formerly known as Community Legacy Areas, and is meant to compliment and supplement other State funding programs. Through the Community Development Public Service Programs, MOHCD funds a wide range of social services, with two primary objectives: 1) Families and individuals are resilient and economically self-sufficient, and 2) Families and individuals are stably housed. These objectives are met through specific funding strategies developed in our ten program areas. This data reports MOHCD’s efforts toward accomplishing those two objectives across each program area. Data reflects activities funded for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 as of June 30, 2019.
