This data set contains Calibrated data taken by the New Horizons Pluto Energetic Particle Spectrometer Science Investigation instrument during the pluto cruise mission phase. This is VERSION 1.0 of this data set.

This data set contains Raw data taken by the New Horizons Pluto Energetic Particle Spectrometer Science Investigation instrument during the Pluto encounter mission phase. This is VERSION 2.0 of this data set. This data set contains PEPSSI observations taken during the the Approach (Jan-Jul, 2015), Encounter and Departure mission sub-phases, including flyby observations taken on 14.July, 2015, and including data through 2015 and into January, 2016; the data are limited to those downlinked from the spacecraft as of the end of January, 2016. The rest of the downlinked data for this mission phase will be delivered in a future data set. This is version 2.0 of this data set. Changes since version 1.0 include data downlinked between the end of July, 2015 and the end of January, 2016. Also, updates were made to the documentation and catalog files, primarily to resolve liens from the V1.0 peer review.

Changes since version 2.0 include the addition of data downlinked between the end of January, 2016 and the end of October, 2016, completing the delivery of all data covering the Pluto Encounter and subsequent Calibration Campaign. Also, updates were made to the calibration files, documentation, and catalog files. Significant changes were made to the PEPSSI packet processing and calibration, too extensive to go into here. Data from all previous data sets should be discarded. Refer to the data set documentation for details about processing of PEPSSI data.

After extensive testing in early 2012, in July of that year the project approved daily science operations for the SWAP and PEPSSI instruments throughout the rest of the cruise to Pluto. The changes in Version 2.0 were re-running of the ancillary data in the data product, updated geometry from newer SPICE kernels, minor editing of the documentation, catalogs, etc., and resolution of liens from the December, 2014 review, plus those from the May, 2016 review of the Pluto Encounter data sets. New observations added with this version (V2.0) include ongoing cruise observations from August, 2014 through January, 2015.
