Address points were developed to supplement the address information supplied by the CSCL centerline. Some computer aided dispatch systems use address points as the primary source for locating an address.

Allegheny County Addressing Address Points

This dataset shows the Address Points in Allegheny County. The Address Points were created by GDR for the Allegheny County CAD project, October 2008. Data is updated by County staff as changes and corrections are found, on a continuous basis. Updates are sent to PASDA monthly. The most authoritative source for this data is now the PASDA page (https://www.pasda.psu.edu/uci/DataSummary.aspx?dataset=1219), which includes links to historical versions of the shapefile representations of this data.

Address Point is a point feature class used to spatially locate an address. The original location is a system generated centroid (midpoint) of the associated property polygon. Note: The Address Point does not reflect the location of a dwelling located within the property unless the sub-type has been designated as a ‘Building’.

This dataset shows the address points in Allegheny County. ## Usage The value in the `ADDRESS_ID` field lets you look up more information about the landmark locations in the Addressing Address Points dataset (https://data.wprdc.org/dataset/allegheny-county-addressing-address-points2), including the geocoordinates (though they are in the State Plane coordinate system, in that table's `point_x` and `point_y` fields). ## Limitations Since the CSV file currently does not provide geocoordinates, we can't generate a GeoJSON file from it; until we do, the GeoJSON link will remain as a broken placeholder.
