This data set provides geographic boundaries and basic information for Philadelphia’s 15 Business Improvement Districts (BID) as well the University City District and Sports Complex District. More information available [here](https://www.phila.gov/departments/department-of-commerce/for-community-organizations/community-organization-support/) This data set may be helpful to property owners, property purchasers or title companies seeking to know if a property exists within a BID. Note that this dataset may include errors or outdated information. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that interested parties contact BID organizations directly with inquiries.

This dataset contains information about NYC Business Solutions service, a service offered by the Department of Small Business Services (SBS) aimed at giving New Yorkers free services to start, operate and grow their businesses. Each row in the dataset represents the number of public housing residents on a City Council District-level who receive or utilize this service. Use this application to identify whether a business is physically located inside a parcel, square, or lot that is within or abuts a retail priority area. The Great Streets Retail Small Business Grant provides funding for small businesses in designated retail priority areas to make capital improvements in their business and create new job opportunities for District residents. Eligible businesses operate from a physical location in a Great Streets corridor (Retail Priority Area) and are for-profit retail or service-oriented businesses, or nonprofit arts and humanities organizations. A. SUMMARY Community Benefit Districts (CBD), also known as Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), strive to improve the quality of life on commercial and mixed-use corridors. Each district is a partnership between the City and local communities. Local property owners vote to become a CBD and agree to pay an assessment. A nonprofit created by the neighborhood distributes the funding for various improvements. This dataset contains the location and other information on each Community Benefits District. See more information on CBD’s here. B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED The multi-polygons in this dataset were generated in ESRI ArcGIS based on the CBD boundaries. C. UPDATE PROCESS This dataset will be reviewed annually. During this review process, the revenue data will be updated. It is also possible that the boundaries could be updated during this time. D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET Use this dataset to understand the boundaries of each CBD and find links to additional information about them such as revenue generated from each CBD.

Using a competitive process - Main Street Maryland selects communities who have made a commitment to succeed and helps them improve the economy - appearance and image of their traditional downtown business districts. To accomplish Main Street goals - DHCD has partnered with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center - which developed the Main Street Four Point Approach for commercial revitalization. Beginning in 2008 - Main Street Maryland programs will also incorporate a Fifth Point: Clean - Safe - and Green.
