This is a list of New York City municipal buildings over 10,000 square feet by borough, block, lot, and agency, identifying each building’s energy intensity (kBtu/sq. ft.), Portfolio Manager benchmarking rating, where available, and the total GHG emissions for the calendar years 2010 - 2013.

Local Law 84 of 2009 (LL84) requires annual energy and water benchmarking data to be submitted by owners of buildings with more than 50,000 square feet. This data is collected via the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Portfolio Manager website Each property is identified by it's EPA assigned property ID, and can contain one or more tax lots identified by one or more BBLs (Borough, Block, Lot) or one or more buildings identified by one or more building identification numbers (BIN) Please visit DOB's Benchmarking and Energy Efficiency Rating page for additional information.

Monthly whole building electricity and natural gas consumption data in privately owned buildings over 25,000 ft2 and in City-owned buildings over 10,000 ft2. The Chicago Building Energy Use Benchmarking Ordinance calls on existing municipal, commercial, and residential buildings larger than 50,000 square feet to track whole-building energy use, report to the City annually, and verify data accuracy every three years. The law, which was phased in from 2014-2017, covers less than 1% of Chicago’s buildings, which account for approximately 20% of total energy used by all buildings. The dataset represents self-reported and publicly-available property information by calendar year. Please note that the "Data Year" column refers to the year to which the data apply, not the year in which they were reported. A. SUMMARY The Existing Buildings Energy Performance Ordinance (Environment Code Chapter 20) requires that each non-residential building with at least 10,000 square feet of conditioned (heated or cooled) space and each residential building with at least 50,000 square feet of conditioned space must be benchmarked annually using Energy Star Portfolio Manager. Each non-residential building specified above is also required to undergo an energy audit, retrocommissioning, or develop a plan for decarbonization at least once every 5 years. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED The data is sourced from the benchmark and energy audit reports submitted for compliance with Environment Code Chapter 20. The dataset is presented in two tables which together provide basic characteristics, compliance status, and a public record of reported energy performance. C. UPDATE PROCESS This dataset will be updated on a monthly basis. D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET Existing Buildings - Basic Info and Audit Compliance Status -- This filtered view contains one record per building and provides basic characteristics (such as size and vintage). For commercial buildings, the table indicates when an energy audit or decarbonization plan is due. Existing Buildings - Benchmark Reports -- Each row of this filtered view presents one year of benchmarking data for one building – so there are multiple records per building. One year of data includes compliance status, and if the building complied it also presents energy use data including gas, electricity, steam and EPA-estimated operational carbon emissions. This dataset contains the information of the two views joined on Parcel Number.

,This data set lists sustainability metric data for state-owned buildings. These data are used to track state departments’ progress toward the goals mandated in Executive Order B-18-12. The metrics tracked in this set are total water use, total energy use, renewable energy generation and LEED certifications. The data set also includes building information for the 1722 buildings listed including, building name, address, total square footage and use type. These data are entered by property owners from each state department into the database Energy Star Portfolio Manager. Most data are obtained by property owner using the utility bill; however, some of the information is automatically fed into the database by the utility company.,
