Older Adult Center (OAC) Activities
This dataset contains a listing of events and activities offered by NYC Aging funded Older Adult Centers. There are more than 300 older adult centers (OACs) and affiliated sites throughout the five boroughs that provide healthy meals, fun activities, classes, fitness programs and social services. This dataset is listing of Multipurpose Senior Centers across the state which provide multiple services to New York’s senior citizens. AAAs (Area Agencies on Aging - local offices for the Aging) provide services at senior center locations either directly or through subcontract. Services may include but are not limited to congregate meals, health promotion, educational programs, recreation, etc.

The Department for the Aging (NYC Aging) provides a wide array of services to older adults (age 60 and older) in the five boroughs of New York City. To accomplish this, NYC Aging contracts out to external organizations (mainly non-profits) to provide the services. This dataset contains a listing of all Older Adult Center (formerly Senior Center), Abuse Prevention, Home Care, Legal Services, NORC, Transportation, Case Management, Home Delivered Meal and Caregiver contracts managed by NYC Aging in the current Fiscal Year. It also includes the contact information for the agencies providing the services.

This information is required by Local Law 140 to be provided to the City Council and published on the Department for the Aging (NYC Aging) website and the Open Data portal. It contains the addresses, days of operation, daily participants, as well as the FY 2020 budgeted and actual expenses for NYC Aging funded senior centers (now know as Older Adult Centers).
