Public Health: Causes of Death
This dataset is sourced from the Illinois Department of Public Health and curated by the Cook County Department of Public Health. It covers a select set of causes of death across the County (excluding Chicago). To maintain confidentiality of individual medical records, counts below 5 and rates below 20 are masked with an asterisk (*). Please review metadata and values carefully and exercise caution when aggregating. Some columns only contain data across certain age groups. Some rows overlap across variables and geographic levels and aggregating without filtering may overestimate the counts. For example, aggregating counts across Place without excluding pre-aggregated counts for "Aggregated Region: Suburban Cook County" and "Aggregated Region: CCDPH Jurisdiction" will overstate the counts. Data prior to 2015 can be found here: Suburban Cook County Deaths (2000-2014).

Allegheny County Mortality Indicators
공공데이터포털
This data includes counts of deaths by race (total, Black, white) by age grouping and cause of death by Census Tract aggregated over a five-year period (2014-18). Data extracted from Pennsylvania's Electronic Death Registry System (EDRS) with the following disclaimer: "These data were provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The Department specifically disclaims responsibility for any analyses, interpretations, or conclusions." Census tract of residence was determined using address-level data. Records were excluded from analysis if address was missing or unmatched to a census tract (≈1% records). Census tracts starting with 980x.xx, 981x.xx, and 982x.xx were also excluded due to a geocoding error. For cause of death by census tract, counts were assessed using census tract by age and race; records were excluded if age, race, or location data were missing. Census-tract level counts < 5 are censored and displayed as NULL. Census-tract-level counts may not equal county-level counts when summed due to censored data or missing data.

공공데이터포털
This dataset is part of a series of seven datasets about Cook County births sourced from the Illinois Department of Public Health and curated by the Cook County Department of Public Health. The datasets are as follows: 1) Birth and Fertility 2) Birth Outcomes 3) Characteristics of Delivery 4) Infant Mortality 5) Initiated Breastfeeding 6) Pregnancy Health and Risk Factors 7) Sociodemographic Characteristics of Mother To maintain confidentiality of individual medical records, counts below 5 and rates below 20 are masked with an asterisk (*). Please review values carefully and exercise caution when aggregating. Since the rows overlap across variables and geographic levels, aggregating without filtering will overestimate the counts. For instance, while filtering in "Place" column, not excluding pre-aggregated rows like "Aggregated Region: Suburban Cook County" and "Aggregated Region: CCDPH Jurisdiction" will overstate the counts.

Provisional Deaths Due to Respiratory Illnesses
공공데이터포털
The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) receives weekly deidentified provisional death certificate data for all deaths that occur in Chicago, which can include both Chicago and non-Chicago residents from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Illinois Vital Records System (IVRS). CDPH scans for keywords to identify deaths with COVID-19, influenza, or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) listed as an immediate cause of death, contributing factor, or other significant condition. The percentage of all reported deaths that are attributed to COVID-19, influenza, or RSV is calculated as the number of deaths for each respective disease divided by the number of deaths from all causes, multiplied by 100. This dataset reflects death certificates that have been submitted to IVRS at the time of transmission to CDPH each week – data from previous weeks are not updated with any new submissions to IVRS. As such, estimates in this dataset may differ from those reported through other sources. This dataset can be used to understand trends in COVID-19, influenza, and RSV mortality in Chicago but does not reflect official death statistics.
