Physical and Hydraulic Properties at Recently Burned and Long-Unburned Boreal Forest Areas in Interior Alaska, USA
공공데이터포털
This dataset includes physical and hydraulic properties at selected sites in interior Alaska. Physical properties include dry bulk density, loss on ignition, saturated soil water content, and particle size distribution. Hydraulic properties include field-saturated hydraulic conductivity, soil-water retention data, and parameters used in a common soil-water retention model (van Genuchten model). Volumetric soil-water content profiles with depth are also included. Note that unburned locations are dentoed with UB and burned locations are denoted with B.

West Twin Creek Alaska Subsurface Bromide Tracer Experiment, 2015
공공데이터포털
This data was produced as part of a subsurface tracer experiment performed on a boreal hillslope in July, 2015. The data is separated into three files: 'subsurfaceFlow_bromideTracer_well_wTwinCr_koch.csv' includes the location and depth of well screens, concentrations of the bromide tracer in time, saturation state of the subsurface at the wells, ground cover at the wells, and depth of the organic-mineral boundary which controls shallow flow. 'subsurfaceFlow_bromideTracer_probe_wTwinCr_koch.csv' includes thaw depth, gravel presence, and vegetation type within the well field. 'subsurfaceFlow_bromideTracer_breakthroughs_wTwinCr_koch.csv' includes solute concentrations in time from wells that displayed robust breakthroughs. The data includes electrical conductivity and bromide measurements, and a column that combines these two solutes based on a significant linear relationship between the two.
Soil thermal properties at recently burned and long-unburned boreal forest areas in interior Alaska, USA
공공데이터포털
This Data Release presents soil thermal properties of volumetric specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity for soil samples from six sites in interior Alaska USA. Volumetric specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity data were estimated using a dual needle heat pulse probe. Soil thermal property data were collected across the full spectrum of soil saturations from fully saturated to oven dry. These data are needed for numerical modeling of subsurface thermal conditions for modeling permafrost thaw and associated consequences for water availability in interior Alaska.
Groundwater discharge areas for Antelope, Kobeh, and Monitor Valleys, Central Nevada, 1964
공공데이터포털
This dataset represents "phreatophyte areas" mapped as part of a groundwater reconnaissance effort in four valleys in central Nevada and published in 1964. The data were digitized for comparison with mapping of groundwater discharge areas done in 2011 as part of a groundwater study in these valleys published in 2016.
Selected Basin Boundaries for USGS Streamgages in Alaska through 2019
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains drainage basin boundaries for 253 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in Alaska that had at least 5 years of daily streamflow through September 30, 2017, three of which were delineated for alternate basin conditions. This compilation includes selected boundaries produced in 2014 (https://doi.org/10.5066/P143KNEJ). Additional basin boundaries were delineated from the streamgage location to the nearest USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) HUC boundary and along HUC boundaries from that intersection to the basin headwaters. Streamgages selected for drainage basin delineation included streamgages in Alaska that met selection criteria for a statewide study of seasonal flow regimes (Curran and Biles, 2021). Sites for that study included USGS streamgages that had at least 5 years of daily streamflow that responded mostly to seasonal meteorological inputs, that had a definable drainage basin above a minimum size from which basin characteristics could be determined, and that provided streamflow data not similar to another streamgage record in the dataset. For three streamgages, the drainage basin boundary was delineated for the drainage area associated with regulated (diverted) or unregulated streamflow conditions contemporaneous with a period of streamflow record other than the present. Selected basins were previously published in the WBD as "NWISDrainageArea" features.
ABoVE: Soil Temperature and VWC at Unburned and Burned Sites Across Alaska, 2016-2023
공공데이터포털
This dataset provides soil temperature and volumetric water content (VWC) measurements at 15 cm depth collected at 12 selected boreal and tundra sites located across Alaska. Each site is equipped with a HOBO MicroStation Data Logger that hosts two soil temperature sensors (HOBO S-TMB-M006 Temperature Smart Sensor), and two soil moisture sensors (HOBO S-SMD-M005 10HS Soil Moisture Smart Sensor). Each sensor was installed horizontally at a depth of 15 cm within the soil profile. Samples of soil from seven sites were taken to a laboratory for determination of site-specific soil moisture sensor calibration curves to correct raw measurements. Data were nominally recorded at an hourly frequency and downloaded from the sites at least annually for the period 2016-08-11 to 2023-09-02, but data coverage varies by site. These measurements were collected at the same sites as previously archived CO2 efflux and thaw depth data. The data are provided in comma-separated values (CSV) format.
