Surface Sampling for Non-Spore-Forming Bacteria Manuscript Dataset 2023
Recovery Data for non-spore-forming bacteria, used as surrogates for select agents in surface sampling laboratory tests. Three surface sampling devices (3M sponge stick, LabPlas Sani-stick, and Solar Cult sponge, were used to attempt collection of E. coli, Y. ruckerii, and S. marcescens on Glass, ABS Plastic, and Stainless Steel. These data are useful for selection of surface sampling methods following a contamination incident. This dataset is associated with the following publication: Aslett, L., M. Calfee, M. Monge, A. Abdel-Hady, T. Chamberlain, R. Baartmans, and A. Touati. Evaluation of Sponge Wipe Surface Sampling for Collection of Potential Surrogates for Non-spore-forming Bioterrorism Agents. JOURNAL OF APPLIED MICROBIOLOGY. Blackwell Publishing, Malden, MA, USA, 135(5): lxae097, (2024).

Dataset for Cleaning Biological Contamination using Laundering
공공데이터포털
After a wide-area biological contamination incident populations residing within minimally contaminated areas may be instructed to shelter-in-place and need to perform infection control within their homes. Previous research within HSMMD has found hot water laundering effective for the decontamination of Phi6 bacteriophage and hot water laundering + bleach effective for the decontamination of the B. anthracis surrogate Bg. This dataset expands upon previous work to include six different laundering methods, some including sanitizers, and four different microorganisms (Phi6, MS2, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Staphylococcus aureus). The dataset includes eight different textiles.

Bacteria Enumerations from Surface Water and Bed Sediment Collected from a Mudflat in Palo Alto, California, 2021-2024
공공데이터포털
USGS scientists enumerated bacteria, including bacterial pathogens, from surface water and sand/sediment collected at an intertidal site (mudflat) near the outfall the Palo Alto Regional Water Quality Control Plant (RWQCP). This site has been monitored for metal concentrations and benthic invertebrate community for the last 30 years. Continued efforts to document changes in pollutant concentrations, forms, and types over time is critical to assess ecosystem health. Environmental water and sand samples were analyzed at U.S. Geological Survey Michigan Bacteriological Research Laboratory for enumeration of halophilic bacteria, total coliforms, Escherichia coli, and enterococci, and the enrichment and isolation of Vibrio spp.
