This service displays the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) 2019 Basin Prioritization for California's 515 groundwater basins. The final results of SGMA 2019 Basin Prioritization were released on December 6, 2019.

Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) 2019 Basin Prioritization for California's 515 groundwater basins. Groundwater basin geometry from i08_B118_CA_GroundwaterBasins joined to i08_ B118_SGMA_2019_Basin_Prioritization table, and then exported to create this feature class. The final results of SGMA 2019 Basin Prioritization were released on December 6, 2019.

The following dataset has been developed to assist the Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) in their water budget development per the Groundwater Sustainability Plan Regulations §354.18. GSAs may choose to use this dataset but are not required. GSAs have the option to develop their own water year types based on best available data. For information on how the SGMA Water Year Type Dataset was developed, please see the SGMA Water Year Type Dataset Development Report.
