The Development, Implementation, and Assessment Approach
Throughout the federal government, there is a push to use and build evidence to improve effectiveness of programs in human services. The Permanency Innovations Initiative (PII) combines implementation science and rigorous evaluation and responds to the need for more evidence-supported interventions in child welfare. The Development, Implementation, and Assessment Approach was developed as part of this initiative and focuses on best practices in implementation science. Tested and refined in real-world settings, the Approach helps organizations develop or adapt innovations and effectively implement them with fidelity for sustainable change. The Permanency Innovations Initiative: A New Way to Build Capacity in Child Welfare
공공데이터포털
PII grantees provide examples of how they have strengthened their organizations' abilities to implement and test new interventions and change their efforts due to their involvement in PII. This video highlights how PII has contributed to a shift in the way capacity is defined and built within the Children's Bureau. Metadata-only record linking to the original dataset. Permanency Innovations Initiative (PII) Evaluaiton Team Contractor Profile
공공데이터포털
The Evaluation Team (ET), led by Westat, is charged with designing and carrying out rigorous evaluations at the cross site and local site level. These evaluations will examine the implementation and effectiveness of the interventions funded under the PII. Metadata-only record linking to the original dataset. Open original dataset below.

Permanency Innovations Initiative (PII) Training and Technical Assistance Project Contractor Profile
공공데이터포털
The PII-TTAP team, led by JBS International, Inc., provides training and technical assistance to support the PII Grantees in better meeting the needs of children and families by developing/adapting, implementing, and scaling up interventions in child welfare (both evidence-supported and developmental). PII-TTAP accomplishes this goal by providing innovative yet practical training and technical assistance; building capacity for implementation within PII Grantee organizations through knowledge dissemination; developing tools for effective application and transfer of implementation best practices; and actively coordinating and collaborating in implementation and evaluation activities. The Permanency Innovations Initiative: A New Way to Work in Child Welfare
공공데이터포털
In their own voices, PII grantees and PII partners reflect on their experiences using the PII approach to understand and address the challenges faced by youth in long-term foster care. The PII approach enables grantees to develop stronger, targeted strategies to address these challenges. Examples of materials created to help others apply the PII approach are highlighted.
