Water Monitoring Data - Geospatial Data - Bathymetry
General repository for spatial data and methods used to create bathymetric maps for the water bodies included in NETN's water quality monitoring protocol. Objective of these surveys was to collect depth data of sufficient density to derive a bathymetric map of the lakes and ponds undergoing monitoring by the Network. Basic methods involved superimposing a grid on the pond, navigating to each grid point, drill a hole in the ice and take a depth measurement. The balance of effort and suitable model resolution resulted in the use a varying grid sizes between the water bodies. Grid points were calculated in ArcGIS by applying the free Repeating Shapes tool (http://www.jennessent.com/arcgis/repeat_shapes.htm) to the target waterbody's shoreline polygon. A Trimble RTK (R8 base/rover receivers and a TSC3 Controller) was used to navigate to each of the grid points. A 4 1/2" ice auger connected to a portable drill was then used to make a hole in the ice and a weighted vinyl tape was used to measure the depth to the nearest cm. In some circumstances it was deemed necessary to record more depths: 1) near the edges of the pond where the grid was not an ideal fit and 2) around what was determined to be the deepest part of the pond. We used a combination of tabular and spatial data processing steps to convert depth sampling data to create a digital bathymetric map. Detailed procedures are attached as holdings.

Water Monitoring Data - Geospatial Data - Cumulative Watersheds
공공데이터포털
GIS shapefiles of cumulative watersheds models based on NETN's long-term water quality monitoring stations. Holdings include step-by-step instructions on how they were produced. Cumulative watersheds are one of several physical characteristics compiled and entered into the NETN water database (NETN_H2O) and represent the geographic extent from which surface water may have traveled to reach the monitoring site. Periodicity, flood attenuation, chemical buffering capacity, nutrient load, contaminants, invasive species, and water volume are just a few of the metrics that can be better understood when viewed from a cumulative watershed context. In addition to the watershed files, a Standard Operating Proceedure (SOP) documenting the geoprocessing steps required to calculate the area or region from which all surface water drains to NETN’s water quality monitoring sites (i.e. cumulative watershed) is also included. The process steps documented in this SOP were adapted from a University of Virginia Scholar’s Lab lecture assignment of unknown authorship titled “GIS Watershed Delineation Exercise”, circa 2012.

Data tables supporting analysis of general water-quality conditions, long-term trends, and network analysis at selected sites within the Missouri Ambient Water-Quality Monitoring Network, water years 1993–2017
공공데이터포털
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), collects data pertaining to the surface-water resources of Missouri. These data are collected as part of the Missouri Ambient Water-Quality Monitoring Network (AWQMN) and are stored and maintained by the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database. These data constitute a valuable source of reliable, impartial, and timely information for developing an improved understanding of the water resources of the State. Water-quality data collected between 1993 and 2017 were analyzed for long term trends and the network was investigated to identify data gaps or redundant data to assist MDNR on how to optimize the network in the future. This is a companion data release product to the Scientific Investigation Report: Richards, J.M., and Barr, M.N., 2021, General water-quality conditions, long-term trends, and network analysis at selected sites within the Ambient Water-Quality Monitoring Network in Missouri, water years 1993–2017: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2021–5079, 75 p., https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20215079. Time-series water level and water quality data to accompany Scientific Investigations Report 2018-5040
공공데이터포털
This Data Release serves as a repository for a set of time-series data used in Scientific Investigations Report 2018-5040. The data represent continuous measurements of specific conductance, water temperature, and/or water level (stage), recorded by a variety of types of data loggers during three multi-day interference tests conducted on the Virgin River at Pah Tempe Springs during November 2013, February 2014, and November 2014. The data presented are the raw data downloaded from the data loggers and are organized according to the date of the test and the type and name of the observation site. The Data Release contains 3 items: 1. An explanatory table, "PahTempe_table1.xlsx", which indicates which parameters were collected and on what instrument at each site during a given test 2. The data, "PahTempe_data.zip"; this zipped file contains the raw data logger files in comma-separated values (CSV) format, organized into folders according to the date of the interference pumping test 3. The metadata document, "PahTempe_metadata.xml" Because these data were collected during multi-day interference pumping tests, they do not represent natural hydrologic conditions in the river, springs, or shallow groundwater system. Users of this data are advised to refer to the larger work citation for proper use and interpretation of the data.
