This dataset shows the cycling infrastructure across Metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. The dataset was extracted and modified using data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) and simplified into high-level categories of cycling infrastructure as outlined in the supporting documentation. The OSM data has been enhanced by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to increase the coverage and detail of cycling infrastructure in these regions. Disclaimer While every measure has been taken by DTP to ensure accuracy, errors may remain in the dataset.

This dataset contains the propensity index for cycling across different areas. It also contains the report that examines spatial relationship between areas with high propensity for cycling with high concentrations of short distance car trips.

The information featured here include data from the 2012 Sydney Cycling Survey (SCS). The SCS surveys over 11,000 individuals from 4,000 households. It collects information about cyclists, cycling trips, cycling participation and cycling mode share. Publications about cycling using data from the Household Travel Survey, Census of Population and Housing, and bicycle counters are also available.

This dataset is available on Brisbane City Council’s open data website – data.brisbane.qld.gov.au. The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats. Brisbane City Council automated and manual bike and pedestrian, bikeway and cycling monitoring data. Used to capture cycleway patronage and support bikeway planning. The Bike Facilities data will serve as the authoritative data for any bicycle infrastructure-related reference and analysis. The Bike Facilities data includes all existing facilities, their level of comfort, as well as recommended facilities and whether they belong to the All Ages and Abilities Network. The data is created from an export of the Comprehensive Transportation Network, and it can join back to it through the Bike Facility ID field.

The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats. This dataset can be used with the Brisbane City Council annual bikeway data surveys datasets to translate the Site ID or Site Name to a Latitude and Longitude to show the survey location.
