At sea observations made on the BROKE voyage of the Aurora Australis, 1995-1996
공공데이터포털
A collection of at sea observations made of icebergs, seabirds and whales on the BROKE voyage of the Aurora Australis during the 1995-1996 summer season. The data are mostly text or csv files and document observations of icebergs, seabirds and whales, giving times and/or locations. Further supporting information may be included in the data download, or in other metadata records relating to the BROKE voyage (as opposed to the later BROKE-West voyage).
Burrowing petrels at Heard Island, 1987/88.
공공데이터포털
Surveys were conducted at the eastern and western ends of Heard Island during the 1987/1988 season. Burrow densities in different habitat types (vegetated and unvegetated) were determined from fixed width transects. Extensive areas at both ends of the island were surveyed and detailed information was obtained on distribution and abundance on 4 species of burrowing petrels. This work was completed as part of ASAC project 451 (ASAC_451). This work also falls under the umbrella project, ASAC 1219 (ASAC_1219).
The Ecology and Biogeography of Heard Island Marine Benthos
공공데이터포털
Collections of 23 macroinvertebrate taxa associated with Durvillaea antarctica holdfasts and 58 invertebrate taxa associated with artificial substrata collectors are described from shallow-water and intertidal habitats at Heard Island. The fauna sampled possessed strong biogeographic affinities with the Kerguelen Island fauna and, to a slightly lesser extent, the fauna recorded at Macquarie Island. The fauna possessed negligible affinity with the Antarctic. Experiments involving the offshore tethering of Durvillaea antarctica holdfasts indicated epifaunal invertebrates rapidly abandoned detached holdfasts, but that the few species surviving after one day can probably survive long periods adrift. Log of biological observations at Casey, 1973
공공데이터포털
This file contains a log of general biological observations collected in the Casey region during 1973. Observations were made of seals, whales, penguins, petrels, etc. The hard copy of the log has been archived by the Australian Antarctic Division library.
Seabird, plankton, seal and cetacean observations, IWC IDCR cruise 1984/85
공공데이터포털
These notes present a summary of observations on seabirds, seals and plankton conducted from the vessel Kyo Maru No 27 during the seventh International Decade of Cetacean Research Southern Hemisphere Minke Whale Assessment cruise. The cruise was conducted under the auspices of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) to whom Paul Ensor was contracted as a consultant. The information presented here are personal observations only; recorded outside normal research hours or in such a manner that his participation in the cetacean research was not compromised.
Log and report of observations of birds at Heard Island, 1953
공공데이터포털

It includes information on King Penguins, Macaroni Penguins, Adelie Penguins, Rockhopper Penguins, Gentoo Penguins, Light-Mantled Sooty Albatross, Storm Petrels, Dominican Gulls, Cape Pigeons, Skuas, etc. It also includes information from earlier in the 1960s, including information on bird banding, and bird ordinance. The hard copy of the log has been archived by the Australian Antarctic Division library.

Vertebrate ecologists report from Davis Station, 1983 - Rhys Puddicombe
공공데이터포털
This is a scanned copy of the vertebrate ecologists report from Davis Station in 1983, written by Rhys Puddicombe. Taken from the report: This annual report covers the period 9/11/82 to 10/12/83. As such it is an incomplete record, as some projects are ongoing until mid-January 1984, whilst others will be begun and completed between early December and mid-January. Where this is the case only a brief outline will be presented to illustrate the aims of these projects. This report will generally deal only with practical work and raw results as the majority of analyses will not be completed until early 1984. The two major projects for the year have been seal tagging/resighting, and penguin vomit analysis. Several additional projects are complementary to this work, but for clarity's sake will be covered separately. Finally, several minor projects have involved either observations or data and material collections for analysis by people in Australia. Topics covered by this report: Lakes Fishing Fat collection Briefing/equipping members of Dick Smith Explorer Elephant Seals - Davis Beach census - Day trips - Branding - Collection of teeth and toenails - Seal census on voyage through pack ice Weddell Seals - Faeces collection for Ken Green - Seal recording - Seal tagging/resighting - Aerial weddell surveys/census Seabird census from Australia to Mawson Ice Edge Giant Petrel banding Vomiting of Southern Fulmars and Cape Petrels and bolus collection of Skuas and Giant Petrels Emperor Penguin vomiting Adelie penguins - Blood collections - Dead adelie collection - Egg collection - Penguin banding - Counts of breeding reference groups - Adelie vomiting
