The information featured here include data from the 2012 Sydney Cycling Survey (SCS). The SCS surveys over 11,000 individuals from 4,000 households. It collects information about cyclists, cycling trips, cycling participation and cycling mode share. Publications about cycling using data from the Household Travel Survey, Census of Population and Housing, and bicycle counters are also available.

Cycling Propensity

This dataset contains the propensity index for cycling across different areas. It also contains the report that examines spatial relationship between areas with high propensity for cycling with high concentrations of short distance car trips.

Annual Bike Counts (Super Tuesday)

This dataset contains observed bike counts from sites across the city. These counts are often referred to "Super Tuesday" and is Australia’s biggest annual commuter bike count. The count also contains information for gender, and movement flow of people on bikes. There is a large number of fields captured for this dataset, which has been compiled into an attached metadata document.

Department of Transport and Planning - Bicycle Infrastructure Network

This dataset shows the cycling infrastructure across Metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. The dataset was extracted and modified using data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) and simplified into high-level categories of cycling infrastructure as outlined in the supporting documentation. The OSM data has been enhanced by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to increase the coverage and detail of cycling infrastructure in these regions. Disclaimer While every measure has been taken by DTP to ensure accuracy, errors may remain in the dataset.
