Vegetation community mapping for Dowe Community Conservation Area (CCA) Zone 1 National Park by John Hunter, 2009. A Northern Tablelands NPWS Region contract. Mapped at 1:50,000 scale. Dowe NP is north east of Gunnedah immediately adjacent to the east of Lake Keepit. Five communities are defined based on classification (Kulczynski association). These five communities were mapped based on ground truthing, air photo interpretation and landform. The communities described and their status are: Floristic Community Area Reservation Status C1: White Cypress Pine – Silver-leaved Ironbark – White Box Woodland C2: White Box – White Cypress Pine Grassy Woodland C4: Yarran Shrubland A total of 170 vascular plant taxa were found from 51 families and 125 genera (22% exotic). Vegetation survey and mapping of Somerton National Park in 2008, commissioned by NPWS Narrabri Region. Four communities were determined based on floristic analysis of 20 x 20 m survey sites, and described using dominant species and structural characteristics. Vegetation communities were mapped using ground truthing, position in landscape and stereo interpretation of aerial photos captured at 1:50,000. Lineage and attribution accuracy are unknown. Existing vegetation surveys and mapping were reviewed and supplemented with 16 additional full floristic vegetation plots and over 230 rapid data points (RDPs). Plant Community Type (PCT) mapping was undertaken at a scale of 1:10,000 using a range of datasets. A total of 14 unique PCTs totalling 8,007 ha of native vegetation were mapped including four Endangered Ecological Communities (EECs) listed under the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 (TSC Act) with three of these communities also being listed under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). A finer level of mapping detail was provided through the delineation of structural variants of PCTs across their mapped occurrences to facilitate park management activities. A total of 15 midstorey variants were identified resulting in a total of 50 unique units which demonstrates significant variation across PCTs in Breelong and Drillwarrina National Parks. VIS_ID 4529

Initially part of Sunny Corner SF , Eusdale NR was mapped by NSW State Forests prior to ownership by NPWS. Additional gaps in the vegetation mapping have been filled by local NPWS staff using State Forest RN17 typing and local knowledge to create a new version in 2009. An addition to Eusdale " Stony Creek" was subsequently mapped by Raymond Mjadwesch in 2011. In mapping the addition Mjadwesch updated the typing to correlate the vegetation mapping across the entire reserve with Keith (2004) Classes. The Keith Classes were revised by NPWS staff in 2013 and additional attributes about the composition of the understorey included as field "SHRB_GRASS" to assist with fire planning.
