Brisbane City Council is proud to offer over 2,000 parks across the city – each designed to bring people together, spark adventure, and support active, healthy lifestyles. Whether you're chasing thrills at one of our popular parks or relaxing at your local playground, there’s something for everyone. Our parks range in size from small parks to large district parks, two botanic gardens and many bushland reserves. While most activities in parks do not need Council approval, you may need consent or approval to book part of a park for exclusive use. Park designated sites for bookings identifies the sites within Brisbane City Council Parks that can be booked for exclusive use. More information about using Council parks for events and activities can be found on the Brisbane City Council website or by phoning Council’s Contact Centre on (07) 3403 8888.

To manage on-street parking demand, a number of traffic and parking control areas, and resident permit parking schemes are in place across the Brisbane City Council area. Traffic and parking control areas have signs installed on all entries indicating the area-wide parking conditions. Parking signs located on individual streets within the area override these conditions for days and times indicated on the sign. Residents’ and their visitors’ vehicles that have a valid permit are exempt from the area-wide parking conditions and signed parking restrictions which indicate ‘RESIDENT PERMIT EXCEPTED’. Resident permit parking schemes differ from traffic and parking control areas as parking signs are installed in individual streets indicating the parking conditions that apply. Residents’ and their visitors’ vehicles that have a valid permit are exempt from signed parking restrictions which indicate ‘RESIDENT PERMIT EXCEPTED’. The attributes in this dataset are:* METER_NO – Meter zone number identified on street signs and meter case - used for Mobile Payments and fault reporting. * CATEGORY – Ticketless Meter Multispace - is where one meter controls multiple spaces, credit card and mobile payments. Pay by mobile APP only - denotes a mobile payment only zone, using CellOPark. Some dog parks also include agility equipment for agility drills and shelters for dog park visitors.

It can be combined with other Stormwater data to provide the entire Stormwater Network. Not all assets within the network are owned, and maintained by Brisbane City Council. Surface Drains represent above-ground, exposed stormwater flow paths. These may be natural features (Natural Waterway, Open Channel) unformed features (Flat Open Surface, Overland Flowpath), or purpose-built structures (Scour Protection).
