Land District Charts are the Land District (County) working charts used in the former Lands Department to record the granting and alienation of land. Land Grant information is depicted on these together with additional references relating to the gazettal, reservation granting, acquisition and leasing of Crown Land. These charts have been georeferenced and mosaiced into a single statewide ECW file.

The LIST Land District Boundaries data set contains those 20 Land Districts that divide Tasmania into administrative areas used when defining the granting and derivation of land. Land Districts were formerly known as Counties. A Land District may contain a number of Parishes with those Parish boundaries forming the Land District boundary. Land Districts may still be referred to on Land Titles relating to the derivation of the land.

The LIST Local Government Areas data set depicts gazetted Local Government Boundaries for the 29 Municipalities in the State of Tasmania. These were proclaimed in 1993. Since then there has only been a couple of very minor adjustments to these boundaries to conform to gazetted amendments. Local Government Boundaries legally extend to Low Water Mark and include offshore rocks and islands adjacent to the coastline, irrespective of where the digital boundary may portray. Attributes include Local Government Area name, three-digit Municipal (LGA) code and Central Plan Register (CPR) plan reference number.

The LIST Town Boundaries data set holds spatial areas of towns proclaimed under the Crown Lands Act 1976. Proclaimed towns within a municipal area, where that municipal area has been proclaimed as a city, will still exist unless otherwise revoked. This dataset has been compiled from historic sources and has not been verified. It is not authoritative.

LIST Authority Land is a subset of the LIST Cadastral Parcels layer. It portrays parcels of land owned, vested or managed by a Commonwealth, State or Local Government Authority or Government Business Enterprise. Categories include Housing Tasmania, Hydro Tasmania, Councils, Education, Forestry Tasmania, TAS Water, Defense etc. Authority Land attributes are the same as for LIST Cadastral parcels and include the authority name, title reference and property identifier (PID).

The Land Tenure data set contains a representation of the commonly accepted land tenure classifications for Tasmania. Tenure Classifications include Crown Land, Private Land, Local Government and other Statutory Authority Land, Reserved Land, Conservation Covenants, Private Reserves, Permanent Timber Production Zone Land (formerly State Forest). Future Potential Production Forest (FPPF) land is also distinguished where it overlaps Crown and HEC land. This dataset depicts the full extent of classifications and as some or coastal reserve boundaries extend to Low Water Mark, and in some cases include areas of estuary or sea. These classifications generally conform to those represented on the TASMAP Land Tenure Map.

The Crown Leases data set holds spatial areas of land under a current lease from the Crown within the State of Tasmania. These Crown Leases are administered by the Property Services Branch of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. They are for a fixed term and provide exclusive possession of Crown Land. Crown Leases are a separate layer managed by PWS Property Services and are no longer managed as part of the LIST Cadastral Area. This may result in misalignment with the LIST Cadastral Parcels dataset

The Tasmanian Reserve Estate dataset is a digital map of the Reserve System for Tasmania. It represents land reserved to be managed for biodiversity conservation under Tasmania's Regional Forest Agreement (RFA) and other instruments. These ESRI shape files are of National Park Service tract and boundary data that was created by the Land Resources Division. Tracts are numbered and created by the regional cartographic staff at the Land Resources Program Centers and are associated to the Land Status Maps. This data should be used to display properties that NPS owns and properties that NPS may have some type of interest such as scenic easements or right of ways.
