Point location of named or could be named Victorian topographic features. Inclusions are rivers, water bodies, transport (excluding roads), geographic features and most of the Vicmap Features of Interest point content. These features all reside within the Vicmap Framework Products. Features are combined to create one piece of geometry based on name and type. Points represent relatively small area features which have been generalised or larger features where the spatial source is a coordinate or an address and hence that entity point represents that feature

Vicmap Elevation - Relief Polygon

The table contains polygons depicting relief features including islands and island groups. These features may be named or unnamed and names linked to VICNAMES. Inland islands are derived from HY_WATER_AREA_POLYGON and will continue to be maintained as voids and vertically aligned with islands in EL_RELIEF_AREA Coastal islands, are derived from FR_FRAMEWORK_AREA_POLYGON and will continue to be maintained and vertically aligned with islands in EL_RELIEF_AREA Island groups are also held. These polygons contain intelligent information including name, parent feature name, feature type & scale use codes enabling flexible, intelligent and cartographic labelling which is both multi scale and non scale dependent.

Vicmap Features - Locality Point

Part of the Vicmap Features of Interest dataset - Point location of localities within Victoria. This dataset is a cartographic product that optimises the display locality/township locations in Victoria and adjoining States specifically for map production and webservices. The records in this dataset represent the location of localities where a spatial point is identifiable both within Victoria and 50 km's beyond the State border. All Victorian records are registered in the Geographic Names Register and hold the associated Geonames ID. Non Victorian records represent similiar features in order to support mapping in areas adjacent to the Victorian Border.
