The boundaries are established from either Land Claims Final Agreement, Self Government Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, Local Advisory Area, or from a signed document between Yukon Government and First Nation. An Order in Council is prepared and the new boundary comes into effect. Older LAP's and Community Plans were approved by YG Minister and Cabinet as a policy document. Newer plans are approved in the same manner which also include First Nation resolution by Chief and Council Some of these contain a Future Land Use Plan or Land Use Plan with area designations. Municipal boundaries are created by Order in Council as per the Municipal Act. Each Municipality has it's own Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw. Land under administration and control of Government of Yukon, disposed of by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (EMR), Land Management Branch. This feature class includes: Agreement for Sale: a contract between two or more parties to sell and purchase land. The contract identifies conditions and terms of the transaction. Lease: a special contract between a property owner (landlord) and a person wanting temporary enjoyment and use of the property (tenant) in exchange for rent paid to the property owner. Easement: a right of passage over a neighbour's land or waterway. Reservation (or Reserve): sets aside land for other government departments (OGD) or interested party through an OGD, to be used for a specific purpose. A reserve does not give tenure to the land and is not considered a disposition of land. Does not include applications, licences, notations or agricultural land. Yukon First Nations and Tetlit Gwich'in settlement lands including both rural blocks (R-block) and Fee Simple lands of the First Nations that have ratified their agreements. This data was built using the 1:1,000,000 Digital Chart of the World (DCW) as the base and the 1:30,000 signed Territorial Research Base Maps (TRBM) to define the boundaries. Surveyed Cadastral Framework for Yukon First Nations and Tetlit Gwich'in settlement lands including rural blocks (R-block) and Site specific (S-sites) lands of the First Nations that have ratified their agreements. Settlement land is land identified in a first nation's final agreement as settlement land of the first nation. There are three types of settlement land that a Yukon First Nation can own and manage: Category A: complete ownership of surface and subsurface; Category B: complete ownership of the surface only; Fee Simple: private ownership. In the source NRCAN ICM dataset all First Nation Lands were included in the Land_parcel feature class. They have being extracted from land_parcel to produce this separate feature class.
