Boundaries for Yukon regional land use planning. Boundaries are subject to revision as Government and Yukon First Nations agree to commence regional planning. Once appointed and operating, regional land use planning commissions are to develop and recommend a regional land use plan for their region. Yukon Government and affected First Nations will then approve and implement the plan. This file is made up of several types of boundaries being Municipal, Development Area Regulations, Land Claims Final Agreement, Self Government Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, Local Area Plans, and Community Plans. Municipal boundaries are created by Order in Council as per the Municipal Act. Each Municipality has it's own Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw. These Boundaries agreed to with First Nation Final Agreement (FA or SGA), or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the First Nation and Yukon Government. Those pursuant to Chapter 21 pertain to Taxation purposes within that particular boundary. Those pursuant to Chapter 31 pertain to Local Area Planning within that particular boundary. The Local Area Plans and Community Plans are approved by Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources and Cabinet as a Policy Document. Newer joint Local Area Plans are approved in the same manner for non Settlement Land and by First Nation Chief and Council for Settlement Land.
