Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - Final Report - Bacterial Pathogens in Cucumbers - April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2017
A targeted survey analyzed 3,071 samples of cucumbers for bacterial pathogens such as Salmonella, Shigella, Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157:H7, and generic E. coli. No Salmonella, Shigella, or E. coli O157:H7 were found in any of the samples. High levels of generic E. coli were found in three samples. The CFIA conducted appropriate follow-up activities resulting in facility inspections, additional sampling and/or implementation of corrective actions by the processing facilities.

공공데이터포털
A targeted survey analyzed 2947 samples of fresh whole stone fruits for the presence of Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157:H7, Salmonella species (spp.), Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) and generic E. coli. Additionally, of the 2947 samples, 1001 were tested for Shigella. No Salmonella spp., E. coli O157:H7 and Shigella were found in any of the samples tested. L. monocytogenes was found in 34 samples and generic E. coli was found in 2 samples. The CFIA conducted appropriate follow-up activities. No product recalls were required.
Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - Final Report - Bacterial Pathogens and Indicators in Frozen Berries and Frozen-Cut Fruits and Vegetables for Smoothies - April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2020
공공데이터포털
A targeted survey analyzed 2595 samples of frozen fruits and vegetables for smoothies for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) and generic Escherichia coli (E. coli). Additionally, of the 2595 samples, 1800 were tested for Salmonella species (Salmonella spp.) and E. coli O157. Salmonella spp., E. coli O157 and generic E. coli were not found in any of the samples. L. monocytogenes was found in 1 sample. The CFIA conducted appropriate follow-up activities. No illnesses were reported in association with the positive sample.
Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - Final Report - Bacterial Pathogens in Sprouts - April 2012 to October 2014
공공데이터포털
A targeted survey on bacterial pathogens in bean sprouts and seed sprouts analyzed 3,221 samples for Salmonella, E. coli O157:H7, and generic E. coli. Some of these samples were also tested for non-O157 Verotoxigenic E. coli (VTEC). E. coli O157:H7 was not found in any samples. Six samples were found to contain non-O157 VTEC. Salmonella was found in three samples. The CFIA conducted appropriate follow-up activities for the Salmonella contaminated samples resulting in product recalls and/or the implementation of corrective actions by the processing facilities. No reported illnesses were in association with any of the Salmonella positive samples.
Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - Final Report - Bacterial Pathogens and Indicators in Fresh Baby Leafy Vegetables - April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2021
공공데이터포털
A targeted survey tested 3172 samples of baby leafy vegetables for the presence of the pathogens Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella species, and E. coli O157. Over 99.5% of the samples tested were found to be satisfactory. When necessary, the CFIA conducted appropriate follow-up activities. No product recalls were required.
Food Microbiology – Targeted Surveys – Final report - Bacterial pathogens and indicators in seaweed salad – April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2024
공공데이터포털
Between April 1, 2021, and March 31, 2024, the CFIA tested 858 samples of fresh and frozen seaweed salad for the presence of E. coli O157, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, and generic E. coli. Of the samples tested, 98.1% were found to be satisfactory and required no further action. Samples that were found to be unsatisfactory underwent further actions, including further testing.
Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - Final Report - Bacterial Pathogens in Edible Insects - April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018
공공데이터포털
Edible insects were selected to be part of a preliminary survey to gain basic food safety information. Little scientific information is available regarding the control of microbiological pathogens during the rearing and processing of edible insects. A targeted survey analyzed 51 samples of edible insects for microorganisms such as Salmonella and generic Escherichia coli (E. coli). No Salmonella or generic E. coli were found in any of the samples.
