This list includes detail information as reported annually under each water right as stored in the State Water Resources Control Board's "Electronic Water Rights Information Management System" (EWRIMS) database. All water right holders are required to submit an online report of water diversion and use detailing their annual water use (even if no water was diverted or used during the period). The report is the record of actual water diversion and use made under the water right permit. The information is required pursuant to Title 23, Sections 847 and 925, of the California Code of Regulations. Information provided in the report may be used by the State Water Board to evaluate compliance with permit terms and conditions. The annual report contains information about the water diversion and use, measuring devices, water storage, statement of compliance, project status (for permits), special uses, rates of diversion, water supply contracts, water conservation, water transfers, conjunctive use, etc. Each row correspond with a unique annual report-water right id combination and its associated data. The list include basic summary information about the Water Right record, such as the type and status, the location of the Points of Diversion, the amount of water allowed (Face Value), and summary data associated with the electronic Water Right record. This file is in flat file format and may not include all information associated to a water right such all uses and seasons or the amounts reported used for every month. The information associated with crop irrigation is not included in this list but is included on a separate file. Other information may be available in the associated flat files for each category. This list includes detail information for each party associated with a water right or associated to a water right record (Complaints, enforcement, contacts.. etc) as stored in the State Water Resources Control Board's "Electronic Water Rights Information Management System" (EWRIMS) database. Each row is the unique party information and the type of association with a water right record. It includes information about the party, the water right associated, the type of relationship and role. WRIMS Contact ID is the unique identifier of the dataset. It is a unique id reflecting the combination of party ID-application ID and relationship type and relationship status. For example if a party is associated to multiple water rights (application ID) with multiple relationship types and for multiple from and to dates it would have a unique WRIMS_CONTACT_ID for every combination of those values. This file is in flat file LONG format and does not include all the information associated to a water right such all uses and seasons. Water rights contains conditions such as; the season (including a beginning date and an ending date) during which diversion of water may occur; the amount of water that may be diverted; the purpose for which the water can be beneficially used; the place where the water can be used; etc. Water can be diverted and use directly or can be diverted and stored for future use. A Point of Diversion is the geographic area from which water is diverted using infrastructure (works) and put to beneficial use. Examples of works include water storage dams, diversion dams, dugouts, and pump sites along a surface water source. Each row correspond with a unique Point of Diversion ID and its associated data. The list include basic summary information about the Water Right record, such as the type and status, the location of the Points of Diversion, the amount of water allowed (Face Value), and summary data associated with the electronic Water Right record. This list includes detail information about every Petition associated to a water rights record and stored in the State Water Resources Control Board's "Electronic Water Rights Information Management System" (EWRIMS) database. The State Water Board's Division of Water Rights administers California's water rights system. Parties can petition to modify their existing post-1914 water right permits or licenses as their projects change, or if they wish to transfer water to another party. These approvals can be temporary or can be permanent. Parties with permits may also request additional time to develop their project. There are also types of petitions that can be used by other types of water right holders. For example, parties holding pre-1914 or riparian claims can submit instream flow dedications to allow some of their water to remain instream and benefit instream uses. The Division of Water Rights also processes petitions submitted by wastewater treatment plant operators who wish to decrease their discharges to a stream.
