NCCOS Assessment: Measurement of Turbidity and Nutrients in Three Rivers that Drain to the Achang Reef Flat from Manell Watershed, Guam, from 2016-12-01 to 2018-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0204837)
This dataset contains results from the monitoring of nutrients and turbidity in three rivers in the Manell watershed in southern Guam, which drain to the Achang Reef Flat Marine Preserve. The dataset contains a series of data tables and a data dictionary for the monitoring that occurred between December 2016 and December 2018. The dataset includes tables on nutrient monitoring, suspended sediment concentration (SSC), results from automated monitoring of stream levels, rainfall and turbidity, and a table of water quality measurements.

This dataset represents a one-time sediment sampling effort from the Nu’uuli Pala Lagoon, American Samoa. A suite of organic and inorganic parameters were quantified at twelve randomly selected sites and one targeted site in 2017, including: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), pesticides, human-use pharmaceuticals and personal care products, trace elements, carbon, Clostridium perfringens abundance, and sediment grain size.

This tabular dataset is the result of field sampling of coral tissues (Pocillopora damicornis) and subsequent laboratory chemical analysis for pollutant levels in Tinian, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, in 2013. This dataset represents three years of water quality data collected in Vatia Bay, American Samoa. A standard suite of nutrient parameters (nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, urea, total nitrogen, orthophosphate, total phosphorus and silica), as well as tracers of human waste (sucralose and caffeine) were quantified at sixteen randomly selected sites (surface and bottom samples) monthly from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, sampling efforts focused on capturing precipitation events, so the sampling was conducted at less regular intervals.

As part of the Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network's Estuarine Nutrient Enrichment Monitoring program, Network staff continued to estuarine water quality at several park units. This file contains all data collected during the 2006-2018 field seasons. All data have undergone strict quality control procedures as outlined in the NCBN Estuarine Nutrient Enrichment Monitoring Protocol (https://irma.nps.gov/App/Reference/Profile/661689). Data contained within this database were collected at the following park units: Assateague Island National Seashore, Cape Cod National Seashore, Colonial National Historical Park, Fire Island National Seashore, Gateway National Recreation Area, and George Washington Birthplace National Monument.
