Near surface water temperature, salinity, and pressure taken by CTD from drifting floats in the North Pacific Ocean from 2018-08-13 to 2020-05-02 (NCEI Accession 0223296)
This dataset contains near surface water temperature, salinity, and pressure taken by CTD from drifting floats in the North Pacific Ocean. The main target of our study is further understanding of ENSO and associated processes. In addition to existing observing system, which includes the Global Tropical Moored Buoy Array, ARGO floats, ship observation and so on, this surface drifting mission will be one of the key components of this objective. The purpose of the surface drifting buoy mission is to obtain the atmospheric and oceanic variables, which are associated with heat exchange between the ocean and atmosphere, along the western Pacific warm pool. This mission was conducted as a part of âthe Global Drifter program,â which is an international program designed to improve climate prediction.
