This dataset includes the Wave Energy Data Update for June 1995 - July 1995, from Coastal Data Information Program, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California at San Diego. Contact Ms. Julie Thomas for more information. The data were collected at MAKAPUU, OAHU, HAWAII, USA using a WAVERIDER instrument.

The Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) and other data were collected in NE Pacific (limit-180). Data was collected from Ship MOANA WAVE cruises MW9010 & MW9012. The data was collected over a period spanning from August 6, 1990 and December 13, 1990. Data was submitted via File transfer protocol by Dr. Pierre Flament, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI. Data has been processed and is available in F022-CTD-Hi Resolution file format of NODC.

Field data collection was conducted for the U.S. Army Engineer District, Pacific Ocean, Honolulu (POH), during August 9 - September 14, 2005, off Kailua, Lanikai, and Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii. Wave and current Data were collected at five fixed locations using bottom-mounted RD Instruments Workhorse, 1.2 MHz, ADCPs (Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers) and Sontek Hydra ADVs (Acoustic Doppler Velocimeters). The ADCPs include wave measurements.

The accession contains Wave Surface Data collected in Coastal Waters of California between March 13, 1975 and May 25, 1975. Water surface elevation data was collected during the "Sea Test Program of a Tension Leg Platform" conducted by Deep Oil Technology, Inc., on station at the seaward side of Santa Catalina Island offshore southern California. The data consists of 25 records of water surface elevations about an arbitrary baseline at six locations around the tension leg platform (TLP). Each record is approximately 40 minutes long, collected at 0.5 second recording intervals. Data were collected with IEC Resistance wave staffs and low pass filtered at 0.25 Hz before recording. Data were originally recorded in binary. The number of probes (6) were selected in order to have a large enough number of probes to perform directional spectral analyses even if a probe failed. In some records, one or two of the probes are inconsistent with the others; this is believed to be due to temporary fouling. The data was submitted by Mr. Leonardo Perez. The documentation describes the record format and includes a diagram of the platform location and six probe locations. A sample printout of the data are also included.

Field data collection was conducted for the U.S. Army Engineer District, Pacific Ocean, Honolulu (POH), during 21 March through 7 June 2007, in Kuhio Bay of Hilo, Hawaii (Big Island). Wave and current data were collected at three fixed locations using bottom-mounted RD Instruments Workhorse, 1.2 MHz, ADCPs (Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers). One of the instruments, located closest to the open ocean, included wave measurements. Of the other two units, one lost battery power on 7 April.

Current direction/velocity, wind direction/velocity, and water temperature data were collected using current meter in the Coastal Waters of Hawaii from September 30, 1991 to April 26, 1996. Data were collected and submitted by Dr. Pierre Flament from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
