ChukSA Climatology, Version 1.0: Ocean velocity profiles collected by ADCP in the Chukchi Sea, Bering Strait, and Bering Sea in 2002-2022 (NCEI Accession 0283043)
공공데이터포털
The ChukSA climatology is comprised of shipboard acoustic Doppler current profiler (SADCP) ocean velocity datasets collected by research vessels while working in, or transiting through, the Chukchi Sea region. SADCP datasets included in the climatology have received high- level post-processing, including manual editing and removal of estimated barotropic tides, and have been combined into a unique dataset of direct ocean velocity measurements. As of early 2023, ChukSA includes 95 datasets from 57 cruises by six ships spanning 16 years since 2002. To create the ChukSA climatology, the creators searched for SADCP datasets with cruise tracks that fell within the specified region of 65°-75° N and 170°-150° W. This was done by contacting colleagues and researchers who regularly work in the Chukchi region and by reaching out to the UNOLS Rolling Deck Repository (R2R) team, which archives cruise metadata and data from research vessels, to collect SADCP datasets from research missions as well as transits. Please see below for the original dataset citations and acknowledgements. The original datasets identified were retrieved in a variety of formats (from varying SADCP systems/manufacturers), with a wide range of post-processing completed. Frank Bahr (Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution) reviewed each dataset identified and assessed the need for post-processing. When necessary, appropriate post-processing methods were applied to datasets to ensure that all entries in the climatology were appropriate for climatological analysis. Post-processing methods are summarized in 'ChukSA_readme_final.pdf', with extensive details for each dataset available in a separate document titled ‘ChukSA_Appendix_A.pdf’. Final velocity measurements included in ChukSA are high quality and ready for use by the community. Data are in NetCDF.
Oceanic and atmospheric parameters taken by ADCP, TSG, and other instrumentation from the research vessel Mirai in the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas 2022-08-17 to 2022-09-22 (NCEI Accession 0277221)
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains currents, water temperature, salinity, and other variables taken by ADCP, TSG, and other instrumentation from the research vessel Mirai in the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas. In 2022, the R/V Mirai conducted hydrographic surveys in the Bering, Chukchi and Beaufort Seas. This dataset includes preliminary data from the R/V Mirai 2022 Arctic cruise. Data and readme files were contained in the same directory. Some data or samples are still being processed and analyzed and will be submitted no later than two years after the cruise end. This cruise is U.S. State Department MSR U2022-002 as part of the World Data Service for Oceanography. Data are in various text formats.
Underway meteorological, thermosalinograph and ADCP data collected from Norseman II in Bering Strait, Southern Chukchi Sea from 2022-09-08 to 2022-09-19 (NCEI Accession 0277012)

Bering Strait Mooring Cruise Underway Data 2022 This is an archive of underway data from the Bering Strait mooring cruise on the research vessel Norseman II, from Nome to Nome, 8th-19th September 2022. The cruise collected 3 types of underway data: meteorological (including wind velocity, air temperature and pressure and relative humidity); thermosalinograph (temperature and conductivity); and vessel-mounted ADCP (with bottom tracking). For full parameter list, see data file headers. To avoid sediment clogging of the thermosalinograph, that system was turned off while the ship was in Port Clarence during a large storm (~16-18 September 2022).
Water temperature, salinity, and velocity including ADCP ice tracking from moorings A2, A3, A4 in Bering Strait from 2016-07-09 to 2017-07-08 (NCEI Accession 0174627)
공공데이터포털
This data set contains physical oceanographic data from acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP) and conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensors on moorings in the Bering Strait for a year beginning July 2016. There were a total of three moorings. Two moorings (A2 and A4) are in the US zone of the strait and one mooring (A3) is at a site just north of the strait. Mooring deployments were funded by the NSF-Arctic Observing Network award PLR-1304052. Data files are in text format.
WATER TEMPERATURE, SALINITY, and CURRENT VELOCITIES collected using RVIB Oden and RVIB Araon in the Amundsen Sea from 2010-02-15 to 2014-01-24 (NCEI Accession 0163357)
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains hydrographic data from 3 bottom-mounted moorings on the Amundsen Sea shelf from 2010-02-15 to 2014-01-24. The moorings each have an upward-looking ADCP located near the bottom to measure velocities through the water column, and varying numbers of Microcat CTD sensors on the mooring line to measure temperature and salinity.
Water temperature, salinity, and velocity including ADCP ice tracking from moorings A2, A3, A4 in Bering Strait from 2017-07-09 to 2018-08-11 (NCEI Accession 0189602)
공공데이터포털
This data set contains physical oceanographic data from acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP) and conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensors on moorings in the Bering Strait from summer 2017 to summer 2018. There were a total of three moorings. Two moorings (A2 and A4) are in the US zone of the strait and one mooring (A3) is at a site just north of the strait. Mooring deployments were funded by the NSF-Arctic Observing Network award PLR-1304052 (PI: Woodgate, Heimbach and Nguyen). Data files are in text format. The mooring work required 2 dedicated cruises: - in 2017 (7th - 15th July), a ~ 9 day cruise on the US vessel Norseman II deployed the moorings. Some CTD sections were run on this cruise, and those data are archived separately. - in 2018 (10th - 19th August), a ~ 10 day cruise on the US vessel Norseman II deployed the moorings. Some CTD sections were run on this cruise, and those data are archived separately. Mooring names include a two digit suffix to represent year of deployment. Marine Bird Sighting Data, Arctic Marine Biodiversity Observing Network (AMBON) Chukchi Sea research cruise on the vessel Norseman II from 2015-08-09 to 2015-09-03 (NCEI Accession 0177729)
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains seabird survey and associated environmental conditions data collected in the Chukchi Sea during the 9 August - 3 September 2015 Arctic Marine Biodiversity Observing Network (AMBON) research cruise. Seabirds were surveyed using line transect methods. Seabird observations were recorded directly into a laptop computer using software which logged the geographic coordinates of each sighting. Incidental sightings of marine mammal were also recorded. Supplementary environmental data are included for the beginning of each survey period. The dataset is two comma-separated values (csv) files. The file named dlog_2015_dwc_core.csv contains the count of observed marine birds and mammals by species, their behavior, and the environmental conditions recorded during the surveys for the 2015 research cruise. The file named taxon_codes_2015.csv is an associated taxon code list of the observed species. This dataset was transformed from the native format into a table structure using Darwin Core term names as column names.
