Longline catch data collected during research cruises in 1950-1960, 1962-1964, 1966-1970 and 1973 in the Pacific Ocean and 1964 in the Indian Ocean
공공데이터포털
Longline catch data were collected during research cruises in 1950 - 1960, 1962 - 1964, 1966 - 1970 and 1973. Collected data include gear information and individual species' morphometric data (length, weight, and sex). Marsden square and time zone entered for location information. Latitude and longitude are found in the RP022AA1 (RSCH) dataset.

Experimental Vertical Longline Report data collected during NOAA R/V Townsend Cromwell cruises in 1985 and 1987 at the Hancock Seamounts
공공데이터포털
Experimental vertical longline sets were deployed during 3 cruises of NOAA R/V Townsend Cromwell at the Hancock Seamounts in 1985 and 1987. Collected data included set and haul date, time, position, gear configuration and species caught.
Experimental midwater horizontal longline and vertical longline data collected during a NOAA R/V Townsend Cromwell cruise in 1989 at the SE Hancock Seamount
공공데이터포털
Midwater longline operations were fished both in a horizontal (targeting a particular depth stratum) and vertical manner over the seamount summit and slopes. All midwater longline operations were conducted at night. For midwater horizontal longline operations, gear was set to fish within scattering layers over the summit and upper slopes. Because of difficulty in minimizing the amount of sag in the main line and the lack of catch, the midwater horizontal longline gear was modified and fished as a vertical longline. Each vertical longline set consisted of two to three vertical strings.
Experimental pelagic surface longline data collected during NOAA R/V Townsend Cromwell cruise in 1990 at the SE Hancock Seamount
공공데이터포털
During Townsend Cromwell (TC) Cruise 90-06, experimental pelagic longlining was conducted for swordfish, Xiphias gladius. Pelagic longline gear consisted of a 0.79 cm diameter nylon/cotton line, which is negatively buoyant. Length of mainline was initially 2,055 m but was later expanded to 2,878 m. During the first five sets, No. 28 circle hooks were used with a dropper length of 1 m. Thereafter, length of 3.6 m were used. During most sets the mainline was buoyed to the surface at 411 m interval and droppers attached to the mainline at 14.5 m intervals. On each set, a single blue or green chemiluminescent Cyalume stick was attached to the snap end of every other dropper. The majority of sets had hooks baited with whole Loligo squid. All sets were soaked during the night; soak time was 2.5-3.5 hours.

Data collected include date, location, trawl deployment data and environment data of location.
Hawaii Longline Fishery Trip Expenditure (2004 to present)
공공데이터포털
This is a time-series dataset of trip expenditure data for the Hawaii-based longline fleet for the period August 2004 to present. The data collection includes 10 variable cost items commonly associated with Hawaii longline trips (not including labor costs). These cost items are: unit price, quantity used, and total cost estimates of diesel fuel, engine oil, bait, ice, swordfish certificates (shallow-set only), and lightsticks (shallow-set only); and total cost estimates for gear, provisions, and communications. Additional information about the operator and crew are also included. These data are collected on a routine basis through a collaboration between the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Economics Program and the Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO) Observer Program. The economic data collection program intends to collect data from all observed trips. Currently, observer coverage rates in Hawaii based pelagic longline vessels are 100% of shallow sets that target swordfish and 20% of deep sets that target tuna. Since the economic data collection project was implemented in August 2004, economic data have been collected for over 1,900 longline fishing trips. Minling Pan is the lead for this project.
