Total mercury, methylmercury, and isotopic composition in various life stages of boreal chorus frogs (Pseudacris maculata) at two subalpine ponds in the Rocky Mountains, CO, USA, 2015
Mercury is an atmospherically transported contaminant found even in relatively pristine habitats. Once accumulated at the base of the food web, mercury can move between animals that are linked trophically. Pond-breeding amphibians may be particularly important vectors of mercury flux from remote freshwater to terrestrial systems because they feed on algae and detritus as tadpoles and metamorphose into insectivorous terrestrial adults where they carry out most of their remaining life cycle. However, it is still unclear how mercury concentrations change across life stages in complex life cycle amphibian species. The data presented here includes total mercury (THg), methylmercury (MeHg), and isotopic composition (δ13C, δ15N) in boreal chorus frogs (Pseudacris maculata) at two subalpine ponds in the Rocky Mountains, CO, USA. We sampled various life stages including breeding adults, eggs, tadpoles, metamorphs, and mid-summer adults.

Mercury concentrations, isotopic composition, biomass, and taxonomy of stream and riparian organisms in the vicinity of Yellow Pine, Idaho, 2015-2016 (ver. 2.0, July 2025)
공공데이터포털
This data release includes sampling location data; field-collected stream attribute data; laboratory-analyzed chemistry concentrations (total mercury, methyl mercury) and isotopic composition (total mercury, carbon, and nitrogen) for stream biota (seston, periphyton, benthic insects, emerging adult insects, riparian spiders, and fish); density, body length, and taxonomic information for benthic insects; and density, biomass, and taxonomic information for emerging adult aquatic insects for biota sampled from stream reaches up and downstream of an historical mercury mine site. Sampling took place during summer low-flow conditions in 2015 and 2016. Stream reaches were located on U.S. Forest Service land near the Cinnabar Mine Site in the vicinity of Yellow Pine, ID, USA. Version 2.0 includes an additional table which describes subsampling of the Hess samples during processing. All data on benthic macroinvertebrates derived from Hess samples should be interpreted using this information about proportion of sample processed.

Mercury Concentrations in Seston, Mussels, Water, Sediments, and Preyfish from Lake Huron, 2022
공공데이터포털
As part of the larger Great Lakes Cooperative Science and Monitoring Initiative (CSMI) , the U.S. Geological Survey Mercury Research Laboratory (MRL) completed a binational assessment partnering with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), Environmental Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Michigan-DNR (MI-DNR), University of Minnesota-Duluth Natural Resources Research Institute (UM-NRRI), and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), to assess contaminant concentrations within seston, mussels, preyfish, waters, and surface sediments within Lake Huron. All matrices were assessed for mercury and methylmercury concentrations to examine spatial trends of mercury within the lakes. Sediments were also analyzed for total mercury stable isotope composition to approximate sources of mercury contamination to the lake.
