Four separate data files are provided, each containing column descriptions and units of measurement. GSINF: Mission/Set specific information including set date, set time, set positions, tow speed, tow duration, tow distance, tow depth, and information on sea state (wind force, current, surface/bottom temperature, and bottom salinity). GSCAT: Species specific raw catch weights in kilograms from randomly selected fishing stations. GSDET: Detailed biological information for individual specimens (length, weight, sex, maturity, age). GSSPECIES: List of species codes, common names, species names Each data file (GSINF, GSCAT, GSDET) can be linked by MISSION and SETNO. These are raw data and hence are not standardized by tow distance. This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, zooplankton, and fish survey (salmonids and other pelagic fishes) data taken by CTD, nets, and trawls from research vessel Hokko Maru in the Bering Sea. This cruise is U.S. State Department MSR U2021-002 as part of the World Data Service for Oceanography. Data are in XLSX format.

This dataset contains Tide Gauge data collected from the Drake Passage between Cape Horn and Antarctica from February 1975 to February 1976. These data were collected by Dr. Dale Pillsbury, Princeton University and submitted by J. Bottero from Oregon State University. The data were collected as part of the FDRAKE 75 project sponsored by IDOE under NSF grant number OCE74-12558. Aanderaa tide gauge was used to collect the tide data. Current meter data was also submitted from fixed platforms. Information regarding the exact locations of the moorings used to collect current meter data is available. Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Current Meter (Components) (F015) format. The F015 format is used for time series measurements of ocean currents. These data are obtained from current meter moorings and represent Eulerian method of current measurement, i.e., the meters are deployed at a fixed point and measure flow past a sensor. Position, bottom depth, sensor depth, and meter characteristics are reported for each station. The data record comprises values of east-west (u) and north-south (v) current vector components at specified date and time. Current direction is defined as the direction toward which the water is flowing with positive directions east and north and negative directions west and south. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering and are typically reported at 10-15 minute time intervals. Water temperature, pressure, and conductivity or salinity may also be reported. Data from 42 drifter deployments were released by Dr. Phil Richardson of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Some of the data were collected jointly with Dr. Robert Cheney while at the University of Rhode Island. The data were collected from October 1974 to April 1980 in the North Western Atlantic. Each drifter has its own reference number starting with L00717 and ending in L00759. The documentation includes floater format and file organization.
