Water temperature, salinity, oxygen, fluorescence, and turbidity from CTD from the Norseman II in the Bering Strait and the Southern Chukchi Sea from 2018-08-11 to 2018-08-19 (NCEI Accession 0189601)
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, and other parameters taken by CTD during the 2018 Bering Strait mooring cruise. Data are in CNV format. The cruise was funded by the NSF-Arctic Observing Network grants: - PLR-1304052 (PIs: Woodgate, Heimbach and Nguyen), and - PLR-1758565 (PIs: Woodgate and Peralta-Ferriz). The data are from a ~ 10 day cruise on the US vessel Norseman II from 2018-08-10 to 2018-08-19 sailing from and to Nome, Alaska, USA to the Bering Strait and the Southern Chukchi Sea. The cruise was also to service oceanographic moorings in the strait and those data are archived separately. A total of 142 casts were taken and are included in this archive. No water samples were taken during this cruise. Stations were taken in US waters near mooring locations and on sections in the Bering Strait and southern Chukchi Sea. See cruise report for map, station locations, calibration, and processing details. The data are taken using an SBE911p system, recording pressure, temperature (dual system), conductivity (dual system), oxygen (dual system), fluorescence, and turbidity. Temperature, salinity, oxygen and fluorescence profiles collected by CTD from the Norseman II in Bering Strait from 2013-07-04 to 2013-07-10 (NCEI Accession 0136939)

This archive is of data from 150 CTD casts taken during the 2013 Norseman II cruise to the Bering Strait. For positions, see file headers or the cruise report accompanying these data. Data were preliminary processed at sea, as per cruise report, and bottle files were obtained from this processing. Subsequently, significant issues were found with the data as regards to lack of reliability of salinity and oxygen on the downcasts. A reprocessing attempts to address these issues. (Bottle data were not reprocessed.) This archive includes: 1) the raw data files (.hdr, .hex. and .XMLCON) for each cast, so the user may reprocess the data to their own standards, 2) 2db average UPCAST data for each cast, as per Oct 2015 data processing. As will be discussed below, these data provide (we believe) the most reliable salinity and oxygen data (although note no oxygen or salinity samples were taken for validation), 3) the 2db resolution reflects uncertainty in the depth of the data as the upcast data are being used, 4) casts with particularly suspect salinity data at times of sharp temperature gradients (Casts 83, 90,91,94,100,101,103) are placed in a subdirectory, and 5) the .ros and .btl bottle data as obtained from the processing at sea. We encourage those seeking parameters to match bottle samples to consider also the 2db averaged cast data. A summary of know problems include: 1) salinity values at times of sharp temperature gradient and 2) salinity and oxygen values on the downcasts. This work was funded by the National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs, as part of the Arctic Observing Network, grant ARC 0855748, "An Ocean Observing System for the Bering Strait, the Pacific Gateway to the Arctic - an integral part of the Arctic Observing Network" The PIs are Rebecca Woodgate (UW), Tom Weingartner (UAF), Terry Whitledge (UAF) and Ron Lindsay (UW) (UW=University of Washington, Seattle; UAF=University of Alaska, Fairbanks).

Water temperature, salinity, and other data from THOMAS G. THOMPSON in the Bering Sea and Chukchi Sea from 1987-07-06 to 1987-08-29 (NCEI Accession 8800020)
공공데이터포털
This dataset includes CTD data collected aboard the R/V THOMPSON in the Bering Sea and Chukchi Sea on cruises TT212 (06-JUL-1987 to 17-JUL-1987), TT213 (21-JUL-1987 to 10-AUG-1987), and TT214 (17-AUG-1987 to 29-JUL-1987), by R. Tripp and L. Coachman, University of Washington Dept. of Oceanography, and C.P. McRoy, Institute of Marine Science, respectively. Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard High-Resolution CTD/STD (F022) format. The F022 format contains high-resolution data collected using CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) and STD (salinity-temperature-depth) instruments. As they are lowered and raised in the oceans, these electronic devices provide nearly continuous profiles of temperature, salinity, and other parameters. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering or obtained by interpolation and may be reported at depth intervals as fine as 1m. Cruise and instrument information, position, date, time and sampling interval are reported for each station. Environmental data at the time of the cast (meteorological and sea surface conditions) may also be reported. The data record comprises values of temperature, salinity or conductivity, density (computed sigma-t), and possibly dissolved oxygen or transmissivity at specified depth or pressure levels. Data may be reported at either equally or unequally spaced depth or pressure intervals. A text record is available for comments.
