The objectives of The 6th Chinese National Arctic Scientific Research Expedition were to improve understanding of basic environmental information of marine hydrology in high latitude areas. The China Arctic Expedition of 2014 (Chinare 2014) campaign was designed to provide basic information for global climate change research. The main work was undertaken through sectional observations of the above mentioned sea areas. During the 6th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition, about 14 days (2014.7.22â2014.8.4) had been taken to investigate the marine physical, chemical oceanography and biological ecology, as well as marine geology. Different parameters had been observed, including 53 CTD sites, 53 LADCP sites, 12 Chlorophyll sites, 19 Zooplankton sites and 22 Nutrients sites. Besides, 16 sedimentary cores or surface sediments had been collected. These data are submitted as part of the World Data Service for Oceanography, Marine Research data U2014-022. Data are in text, XLS, and binary formats.

Water temperature, salinity, and others taken by CTD, ADCP, and other instrumentation from research vessel icebreaker Xue Long in the North Pacific Ocean, Bering Sea, and Arctic Ocean. The 8th Chinese National Arctic Scientific Research Expedition (8th CHINARE) voyaged within the U. S. Exclusive Economic Zone from 20 to 25 September 2017, traversing the Bering and Chukchi Seas. The objectives of the 8th Chinese National Arctic Scientific Research Expedition were to improve understanding of basic environmental information of marine hydrology and sea ice variation in summer 2017 in areas of the Bering Sea, Chukchi Sea, Chukchi Sea Rise and Canadian Basin, and to provide basic information for global climate change research. Data sets of fundamental environmental parameters (temperature, salinity, depth, nutrients and Chlorophyll a (Chl a), the abundance of bacterioplankton, and records of benthic macroinvertebrates and demersal fish were obtained within this zone. During the 8th CHINARE, 23 stations defining four sections were investigated. Altogether, 997 conductivity /temperature /depth measurements, 99 nutrient data sets, 99 dissolved organic carbon (DIC) measurements, 99 dissolved oxygen (DO) measurements, 100 Chl a measurements, 42 particulate organic carbon/particulate nitrogen (POC/PN) measurements, 84 bacterioplankton abundance measurements, as well as records of benthic macroinvertebrates and demersal fish were collected. In addition, one set of hydrological mooring systems were recovered, although only one set was redeployed. These data are part of the World Data Service for Oceanography and US State Department Marine Research U2017-023 Data are text, XLSX, HEX, binary formats. XLSX were converted to CSV.

This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, and other parameters taken by CTD during the 2018 Bering Strait mooring cruise. Data are in CNV format. The cruise was funded by the NSF-Arctic Observing Network grants: - PLR-1304052 (PIs: Woodgate, Heimbach and Nguyen), and - PLR-1758565 (PIs: Woodgate and Peralta-Ferriz). The data are from a ~ 10 day cruise on the US vessel Norseman II from 2018-08-10 to 2018-08-19 sailing from and to Nome, Alaska, USA to the Bering Strait and the Southern Chukchi Sea. The cruise was also to service oceanographic moorings in the strait and those data are archived separately. A total of 142 casts were taken and are included in this archive. No water samples were taken during this cruise. Stations were taken in US waters near mooring locations and on sections in the Bering Strait and southern Chukchi Sea. See cruise report for map, station locations, calibration, and processing details. The data are taken using an SBE911p system, recording pressure, temperature (dual system), conductivity (dual system), oxygen (dual system), fluorescence, and turbidity.
